We’re maximising the efficiency with which we move patients through the pathways, so they get their treatment as fast as possible without undue delay.” 📣 ”We started off with 12 patients an hour. And now we’ve got people doing 45 patients, which is more than ever. The most important thing for us now is - we actually know how many true waiters we have. We didn’t know that before.” Great to hear such positive feedback from NHS staff on the ground at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Doctors are “overwhelmed” and staff morale is at an all-time low, with many left to cover unmanageable patient numbers with staffing cover that does not meet required safe levels. We want to see deficit-support funding for Cheshire and Merseyside immediately restored to ensure we can provide safe and effective patient care.

In Shetland and across the Highlands and Islands, long waits, staff shortages, and families travelling hundreds of miles for care are becoming the norm. It’s not our NHS staff failing - it’s the SNP government that hasn’t planned properly. In May, we can change that. Help save Scotland’s NHS and make rural healthcare a priority with Scottish Labour:
