@kxngcrooked What you’re describing is preference. There is technically undeniably good. If its wack because you dont like the beat, subject, not fun enough, not serious enough, Thats preference and to call it wack would be wrong. Theres a difference between wack and not preferred

It’s like the saying goes… battle rappers don’t make good music but they rap better than most. You can be the most talented rapper technical wise yet still make trash music. Words only have the amount of life one puts in them. So technically, if you have all of those traits you are an amazing rapper but if people consider you trash it’s probably because you don’t make good music.

@kxngcrooked I think we overuse the word trash way too much. By definition, if you using multi syllables and all that, we can gain something from it, you may not like it, but it's technically sound. It may still not be good, but TRASH? Na, not with all those qualities, objectively

@kxngcrooked Yeah because just because you use punchlines and metaphors doesn't mean they're good punches and metaphors. You can switch flows and still not flow well. Also, voice, clarity, subject matter all matter.

@kxngcrooked Content and context matters. Delivery and authenticity matters. Music is, first and foremost, heard and felt. Before it was written, before it was analyzed, before it was broken down... It was heard and felt. Good music/rapping has intangibles that can't be quantified sometimes.

@kxngcrooked Yes, back when I was more active in the underground scene I came across alot of MCs that were technically gifted but made horrible music. Being a great rapper is a marriage of Bars, Flow, Style and knowing what the beat needs. Some guys only do Bars and the shit dont hit
