🇪🇺 In Luxembourg today for a full agenda at the Foreign Affairs Council with my European colleagues. 🔹 Ukraine remains at the top of the agenda. Belgium has allocated an additional €100 million to the PURL programme. I urged all colleagues to ensure Ukraine continues to have the financial means to sustain its resistance. We also need to move quickly to consolidate the €90 billion loan, unlock the 20th sanctions package, and advance on enlargement. And we must stay vigilant about the signals coming from Belarus. 🔹 Sudan cannot be forgotten. It is one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world right now, yet it is slipping off the agenda. I raise the question of whether the EU's equidistant approach to the belligerents is really the most effective, or whether we need to step up, including through sanctions, if we want to genuinely influence the outcome. 🔹 On the South Caucasus, I recently spoke with my counterparts in Azerbaijan and Armenia. A peace agreement is within reach. We need to provide both political and economic support to anchor these countries firmly in the European dynamic. 🔹 Belgium remains concerned about the situation in the Middle East. Hezbollah must be condemned for dragging Lebanon into a war it did not want, but that does not justify what follows. Israel's disproportionate and indiscriminate response is unacceptable. I welcome the first direct dialogue between Israeli and Lebanese authorities in decades. The people of both countries deserve to be able to live in safety. It was at my suggestion that High Representative Kaja Kallas invited the Lebanese Prime Minister for an exchange today. 🔹The situation in Palestine deteriorates by the day. Settlement expansion, settler violence at unprecedented levels, the adoption of death penalty legislation. Belgium has been calling for months for at least a partial suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement. The attacks on the values that underpin that agreement are now too serious to ignore. It is time to put this back on the table. 🔹I will also brief my colleagues on my mission to the Balkans and on the geopolitical importance of keeping the prospect of EU membership alive for these populations, in the interests of collective security, prosperity and stability. 🇧🇪 Belgium MFA Belgium in the EU

History lesson: When the Democratic Republic of the Congo gained its independence in the June 30, 1960, one of then the President, Patrice Lumumba, the first ordered once to tell the Belgians residing in the country to leave immediately. As they did, demonstrated below. Planes coming from Belgium pick up their refugees back to Europe. At first the DRC enjoyed a moderate standard of living thanks to the infrastructure Belgians left behind, but quickly went south once Dictator Mobutu Sese Seko took over in 1965 and ruled for 26 years. This is what many consider the beginning of the decline of it post-independence. And things sure aren't looking to go in the right direction. In fact, many Congolese are looking for the Belgians to come back to help rebuild the country again.

Chilling 911 audio recording details the moment a man informs the police that he’s just found the bodies of 25 people in the back of his lorry. On October 23, 2019, the bodies of 39 Vietnamese individuals were discovered in the trailer of a refrigerated lorry in Essex, United Kingdom. The lorry had been shipped from Belgium. The ambulance service said that all 39 people were dead before it arrived, and attempts at resuscitation could not be made. It is believed that they were either victims of human trafficking, such as forced laborers, migrants who paid smugglers to transport them to the United Kingdom, or a combination of both scenarios. The 24-year-old lorry driver was arrested at the scene. Essex Police stated that preliminary post-mortem examinations indicated a combination of hypoxia and hyperthermia as the probable causes of death. On October 25, authorities arrested a man and a woman from Warrington, Cheshire, on suspicion of manslaughter and conspiracy to traffic people, along with another man at Stansted Airport for the same offenses. The investigation was the "largest mass fatality victim identification" investigation in the history of Essex Police. In total, eleven individuals were convicted of offenses linked to the incident in the U.K., while an additional nineteen were imprisoned in Belgium.

Claiming that I was Russia's most valuable asset. I like that one a lot. I will remember that one. There's always division at the European table. This is Europe. 27 countries, different interests, different public opinions close to Russia, far from Russia. We're not all playing in the same ballgame. But at the end of the day, there's a decision with unanimous support. We found a solution for the financing of Ukraine, and we were unanimous. Three countries don't want to be implicated? Okay, fine. But we're there. But now I have to go to my dacha in St. Petersburg, where my neighbor is Depardieu, and then across the street there is Assad. And I think I can become mayor of that little village. Maybe that could be your title.

Scotland - Building out from the Back I feel like there is a huge lack of clarity in the way we play & that responsibility sits with coaches as much as the players: > Are Defenders to Play? > Are the "CDM's" to Show & Build? > Fullbacks Allowed to Find Space? I have watched McKenna & Hendry play out successfully in Belgium and Croatia with possession based teams and be good at it. I have watched Ferguson & McLean play in Top-5 Leagues and show for the ball and dictate play. Is this a lack of clarity, lack of coached "Style" or individual errors or a mixture of both?!

He worked as a postal clerk and beer salesman and was largely self-educated. In 1958, he founded the Mouvement National Congolais (MNC), advocating unity and independence for Congo. He was arrested in 1959 after riots but later released. Congo gained independence from Belgium on 30 June 1960 and Lumumba became Prime Minister while Joseph Kasa-Vubu became President. On independence day, Lumumba condemned colonial exploitation, straining relations with Belgium and Western countries. Shortly after, the Congo faced an army mutiny and the secession of Katanga under Moïse Tshombe. The United Nations deployed peacekeepers but refused to intervene militarily. During the Cold War, Lumumba sought Soviet assistance, alarming the United States and Belgium. On 5 September 1960, Kasa-Vubu dismissed Lumumba and both leaders attempted to dismiss each other. Colonel Joseph Mobutu launched a coup on 14 September, suspending parliament and placing Lumumba under house arrest. He attempted to escape to Stanleyville in November 1960 but was captured, transferred to Katanga and assassinated by firing squad on 17 January 1961. His body was later dissolved to conceal evidence. Belgian and CIA involvement in his death was later confirmed and his assassination caused international outrage. He was 35 years old at the time of his death.

As some of you already know that my son Hunter audition for American Idol back in May 2026. With that said, we got some exciting news Hunter made it to the 2nd round audition with the show producers on September 25, 2026 at 5pm. We are so proud of the hard work he has put in with all of this. Hunter can’t wait to tell his story coming from not being able to talk and diagnose with Apraxia and the struggles he had at school being bullied and all the other things as well. I am so proud of him because he get’s to tell his story with the passion of music. Let’s all root for Hunter on 9/25/2026. His Best is Still To Come!

Saw some people saying Cole Custer didn't try to pass Joey Logano in the final laps at the Roval so I went back and watched his onboard. Flagged this over the radio with about three to go: "Andy, you got your watch on?" "Nice and easy here, bud. Nice and easy." "We can save our tires here for a late race restart." Custer had been shadowing Logano through traffic before both were finally clear coming to four laps to go. Custer took one look to Logano's inside in Turn 7 with four to go but never seriously challenged Logano for position again.
