I listened to a two hour FAA meeting about bringing Starship operations to Florida so you don't have to. Many locals chimed in, and I found three main categories of concern: - those who think it's too loud/damaging to house, sleep, etc -those who say rocket launch closures and debris have already affected their business/livelihood (fishermen) -and those who enjoy a nice n*de afternoon on Playa Linda beach who do not want to have 60~ days of beach closures thanks to Starship

The Antonov AN-124 has officially landed at NASA Wallops Flight Facility — presumably carrying Rocket Lab Neutron hardware. The aircraft traveled all the way from New Zealand, making stops in Fiji and San Bernardino, California before departing this morning for Wallops. Pictures really don’t do this thing justice. It’s a massive aircraft and was very cool to finally see in person. There was also a really nice crowd gathered at the NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center observation deck to watch the arrival. During the landing, I shot another high-speed continuous photo sequence, so I may be able to put together a video from it later. For now, I focused mostly on photos and a short video after touchdown while it rolled down the runway. The aircraft is currently parked near the end of the runway being unloaded. Opus 4.6 vs Gemini Pro 3.1 (7/9) I wanted to do a physics simulation test, overall both models did a good job in this department, however Opus added nice animations to things like "Fan", "Magnet" whilst gemini just rendered them out as a red circle. Opus also included way more effects in its toolbox, like rocket, connecting shapes with rope, springs etc. Should note that in all of these tests, Opus one shotted all of them, whilst gemini took an extra 3-5 prompts to get the project compile :) prompt: Build a polished physics sandbox toy using React + Vite with a real physics engine (Matter.js or Rapier), where users can spawn, grab, throw, and connect objects with springs, hinges, and ropes, plus interactive gadgets like fans and thrusters.

It's finally here! Today, the Gary Sinise Foundation dedicates our 100th mortgage-free, specially adapted smart home to U.S. Army Sergeant First Class (Ret.) Joe Bowser. This is a huge milestone and we could not have done it without the support of the American people. 🇺🇸 After enlisting in the Army and later rejoining the service following 9/11, Joe was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. One night, a 122mm rocket exploded behind him, critically injuring his leg. Despite 14 surgeries, Joe ultimately chose amputation over a lifetime of pain - a decision that marked the beginning of a new chapter defined by resilience and purpose. Even after his injury, Joe continued to serve, advising the Secretary of the Army on wounded veteran issues and advocating for his fellow soldiers. His courage, perseverance, and continued service embody the very mission that guides our work. Today, we were honored to celebrate U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant (Ret.) Eddie Wright as he moves into his mortgage-free, specially adapted smart home built by the Gary Sinise Foundation. Inspired by the service of his father and grandfather, Eddie followed in their footsteps and joined the Marine Corps, later earning a place in the elite 1st Reconnaissance Battalion. He deployed to Fallujah in 2004, one of the most dangerous combat zones of the war. On April 7, 2004, while riding in the lead vehicle of his convoy, Eddie and his unit were ambushed. During the firefight, a rocket-propelled grenade struck his rifle and exploded, severing both of his arms and shattering his femur. Despite his devastating injuries, Eddie remained alert, directing fellow Marines to safety as they rushed to save his life. After receiving more than 40 units of blood during his evacuation and enduring a long road of recovery, Eddie became known for his resilience and unwavering positivity. Reflecting on his service, he shared that he would do it all again without hesitation. "I didn’t realize how much a house can make you feel free. The convenience and access to everything that I need for everyday life brings a lot of breath into my spirit," Eddie shared. This home will provide Eddie with the independence, stability, and peace he deserves as he continues building his life forward.
