Let me save you even more with this pro tip: Don't rake in the first place. Leave all leaves on the ground.

I will never understand why people waste time and energy raking up and bagging literal parts of nature into plastic bags to go throw them in a landfill.

Worx Leaf Mulcher - same idea, but a dedicated implementation. Mulched leaves to garden or compost pile

you can also simply rake them up around the base of the tree and over the winter they will reduce greatly in size as they turn into soil and feed the tree as nature intended.

I'd run over it with my mulching mower that also bags it.

Or, and hear me out, you can chop them up with the mower blade and leave them on the soil for fertilizer

Why are we putting leaves into trash bags? That’s what I want to know.

Seems like a waste of perfectly good mulch.

I use my Ryobi battery lawn mower, it leaves almost no trace of the leaves.

lawn mower is faster, plus it immediately adds the mulch evenly back into the lawn as you cut.

If you're going to do that much work might as well just compost it and feed it back to the soil.

I just leave them on the ground and mow them over at the beginning of spring. Gives the insects like lightning bugs and pollinators a place to overwinter. Then puts nutrients back into the ground at the beginning of spring.

You will use even fewer bags by not using any bags at all. The leaves should be left to decompose on the ground, or on a compost heap. There is rarely any need to "tidy" them up.

Mulch it with your lawn mower--it's good for your yard. Only a retard bags leaves. It's right up there with the retards that bag their grass clippings.

Leaves are a terrible thing to waste. I twice mow them w/the tractor, or put them through my leaf shredder twice. Then bag or barrel them up & use for mulch & compost. One year my neighbor even asked for some for her compost, since I'm one of the few that still has large trees 🤷‍♀️

Something tells me an enormous amount of people here complaining about this live in an apartment, and the biggest interaction they get with nature is driving past a struggling oak tree on their way to work every day. Weekends they’re inside on their phones

I have a better trick to use less bags in this situation: Don't put leaves in bags. Leaves provide natural shelter for ground dwelling animals during winter months. And the first mow (I just did it yesterday) will mulch away all ground clutter. No labor, no bags, all natural.
