Some may call it an upset, but Chadron St simply calls it another day at the office, beating the #9/#11 Western CO Mountaineers on Saturday (11/8/25) in OT by a score of 27-24. Chadron got it done in all three phases of the game. The Eagles’ offense presented a balanced attack, gaining 111 yards and 2 TDs passing to go along with 148 yards and 1 TD rushing. The Eagles’ defense held the Mountaineers to a mere 38 yards rushing, had 7 tackles for loss, including 3 sacks, and came up with a fumble recovery and 2 interceptions. The most impressive part of Chadron’s team on Saturday had to be its special teams. The Eagles’ special teams blocked two field goal attempts and blocked a punt. Punter Brodie Eisenbraun stuck one punt inside the 5, drew a running into the punter penalty for a 1st down, and had an amazing run off of a high snap, which while it was not a 1st down, it shows what a stud he is. Then there is Kicker Wilson Yee. Yee made an impressive 50 yard FG in the 2nd quarter. Then, in OT, with ice in his veins, Yee made the biggest kick of his collegiate career, drilling a 47 yard FG to give the Eagles the win. Rewatching this game on Skycast. It's 1st and 10 at Texas 38. If Henderson doesn't get that PF Ohio State is going up 14-0 and panic sets in for Texas. They had no answer for Ohio State offense. OSU started at the 8 and was marching. 3 yard pass 13 yard pass 2 yard run 22 yard run 14 yard pass 1 yard run personal foul The next play Howard missed Judkins on the read, or it's 1 on 1 with Judkins and a DB for a TD. Fryar and Jackson did an excellent job getting to the 2nd level to wash the LB's.

Still very early & a lot of ball to be played but folks are SLEEPING on Wade Woodaz. - A true 6’3.5 - 235 lbs. - 34” arms - Will run 4.5 easy - Will jump out the gym. 35+” vertical without even warming up. - Has played Sam, Mike & Will. So you know he has the football IQ to know all 3 positions as well as everyone else’s role. You’re not taking him off the field. - Converted Safety so you know he has ball skills. 4 INT. 1 of which was to the crib. - Played in 40 career games. 20+ TFL & 8 Sacks. Can easily rush the passer. - Team leader. What he says, goes. If it looks and reads like a 1st round draft pick…it’s probably a 1st round pick. NFL scouts know the kid is a dude. Bookmark it.

If the Wolves were able to have a cap space team (maybe Brooklyn or Chicago) absorb Julius Randle's contract next season ($33M), that would open up three interesting roster building tools I want to highlight. I think this is relevant because the Wolves front office has a history of kind of stringing together transactions -- even over the course of multiple transaction windows (offseason and trade deadline). The Randle trade would be Randle + draft compensation for say Brooklyn to absorb the contract - maybe: Randle + No. 28 for a future 2nd (Adjust compensation as you see fit. Not the point of this exercise. Obviously if this would cost a bunch, they wouldn't do it. Or maybe they'd have to move to using Gobert's salary as the salary moved into another team's cap space.) Shedding Randle's salary would drop the Wolves well below the *1st* apron (about $52M). And while beneath the 1st apron, the Wolves would open up the ability to three additional roster building tools for spending that $52M... (If Ayo Dosunmu were to sign for $17M, that would be $35M in room below the 1st apron. And need to make sure to get the roster to 14 players.) 1. The non-taxpayer midlevel exception ($15M) - The "big MLE" is a $15M gift card for teams to spend above the salary cap but below the 1st apron. So if the Wolves were to use this, they would be hard-capped at the 1st apron ($13M below 2nd apron). If a team is over the 1st apron, they only have access to the taxpayer or "mini MLE", which is $6M next season - Could go out and sign a free agent for up to $15M in starting salary - Could also use this $15M as a trade exception and trade for a player who makes up to $15M 2. The trade exception generated in the Mike Conley salary dump trade to Chicago ($10.77M) - A trade exception allows a team to trade for a player without sending back matching salary for up to the amount of the trade exception - So with access to this trade exception, the Wolves could trade for a player making up to $10.77M - Using a trade exception also hard caps a team at the 1st apron ($13M below 2nd apron) 3. While SD Mines dropped a 52-50 heartbreaker in a 4 OT shootout against Michigan Tech, Mines’ Redshirt Senior QB Jake Martinelli absolutely balled out! Martinelli completed 39 of 61 passes for 443 yards and 5 TDs and gained another 62 yards on the ground. While Martinelli threw 1 INT, I’ve watched it over and over, and quite simply, the officials got the call wrong. Mines’ Redshirt Junior WR Mason Galbreath was a major contributor to Martinelli’s tremendous game as he pulled in 10 catches for 160 yards and 1 TD. Mines’ Junior WR Colton Grover contributed another 40 receiving yards on 3 catches, 2 of which were for TDs. The defense was led by Senior LB Hunter Newsom, who recorded 7 tackles (5 Solo & 2 Ast), with 3 tackles for a loss. Despite the loss, SD Mines’ offense was impressive! A number of you have asked about the call at the end of the 1st Half of the Bethel Football game at NCC Football in which there was a potential fumble/TD wiped off the board for Bethel that eventually led to no score by the Royals. The full play and a breakdown of issues with the call are in the video below. To be clear, though: 1) It appears that the receiver did not possess the ball at or past the NCC 8, which was needed for the 1st Down (the officials gave the ball to Bethel at the 8 after the overturn, awarding a 1st down). 2) It seems like the wing official was marking forward progress but may not have blown his whistle. It is unclear how he affected the overturn decision in the first place. What is clear is that the officials on the field awarded a fumble and TD, meaning they did not rule forward progress had been stopped. As a result, this aspect of the play is NOT reviewable by rule, as it is a judgment call in real time. 3) No TD should have been awarded before the review in the first place, as the ball clearly was fumbled to the lineman, and fumbles on 4th down in college football can only be advanced by the fumbling player. The ball would have been marked at the spot of the fumble in that case. 4) The officials missed a clear Roughing the Passer call, as the NCC defender went for the Bethel QB's legs while he was in his passing stance. This would have been a half-the-distance and automatic-first-down foul. If this play was called correctly in the first place, it should have been called dead with forward progress stopped at the 8 1/2 yard line and the Roughing foul pushing the ball to the 4 1/4 yard line, 1st & Goal Bethel, with the clock stopped due to penalty. No matter what, though, the Roughing penalty would have ensured Bethel had the ball closer to the goal with 16 seconds left (when forward progress stoppage should have been called). FT Spurs 0 v 1 Chelsea It’s happened again😡 1st half news Cuti wasn’t starting and we weren’t playing 3 at the back was a problem against them. 2 mins in Bergvall goes off with concussion 🤕 only us . It was hard for us to pass their midfield of Ezo and Caicedo every tackle from us they were diving screaming. They pushed us back to often and a mistake from MVDV cost us. We’ve got to be more positive going forward. 2nd half was even worse than the first we couldn’t retain the ball every cross or corner went straight to Sanchez,Kudus & Porro delivery was so poor only Vicario comes out of this game with any credit. Let’s be honest tho this 1.5Bill Chelsea team is light years ahead of us their midfield destroyed us Only 4 home wins since 3rd November 2024 unbelievably shocking. 1 shot on target to their 9 Simply not good enough #COYS 🤍💙
