Alas high speed internet made intergration much harder. Before then you had no choice but to try to watch the local media of whatever country you were in, read their newspapers. Since high speed internet and smart phones people can stay completely connected to their home country. If you use public transport you will see Indians watching Hindi movies, Bangladeshi’s watching their news channel etc.
