Lol they are trying to argue Trump's tariffs with a protectionist's reasoning, yet they don't understand the equation. The point of Trump's tariffs is to make cheap goods more expensive than American made goods. In theory, American made goods decrease their prices or keep them the same. If American companies raise their prices with the tariffs it negates the purpose of tariffs to re-industrialize. Trump's tariffs do not go far enough and he is too unpopular to force it.
