I never thought I was going to make a film out of it. But when I met her, she made me think about this story. So, I started thinking about it, maybe just subconsciously. I started to see that it could be possible- to see the character. And this is a story that, until you start to envision the character you don’t think that the character could actually exist. So when I met her I started to think about it- to elaborate on the story in my mind. And after a while I decided to make the film. And I felt like this was very opposite. One of the reasons I’m drawn to #LMSY #AffairTheSeries Lookmhee: At that time, Sonya could have gone home since her part was already done, but she didn’t leave. She said she would wait for me. Then I started singing, and when I heard the guide vocal, it was Sonya’s voice. In fact, she didn’t have to sing the guide for me, but if it’s her voice, it’s easier for me to follow. At that moment, I felt touched and really appreciated that she sang for me. The second moment was when I texted her again on Line, asking why she didn’t go home, telling her to go since it was already late. She replied, ‘No, I will wait.’ And that was it, just one cute little animated sticker, and I started crying. Nancy Allen on her favourite collaboration with Brian De Palma: "I guess I'd have to say "Blow Out' (1981) I love each one. "Home Movies" is a trifle. 'Carrie' (1976) was a kick because it was my first film. It was great. 'Dressed to Ki!!' (1980) I love for the reasons I told you. But 'Blow Out,' I think, for so many reasons. No. 1, it was such a great piece at that time. It really came together in terms of his style, content, all the actors, the performances... leading up to one of his best films ever, I think. What happened, of course, with "Blow Out" was I didn't like the character, it was never originally written for someone like myself or someone like John [Travolta]. It was really more of a small, dark, film noir piece, which I love, and the characters were a bit older than we were and really kind of past it. It was over for them, very cynical and dark. The guy's character was very cerebral, more like a John Heard or Jimmy Woods, this type of person. So, when John was cast, in a way, it was perfect. I didn't see it right away. That's not who this character is, but what John brought to the character, what wasn't there, was the heart and soul. So, I did not want to make another picture with Brian. I didn't like this character. John wanted to do it with me, and Brian said, "Well, wouldn't you like to work with John?" I said yes, of course I would. Yes, I love working with John. So I had to find a love of this person, which I did. I came to fall in love with her and give her things that I felt I could align with." One of the coolest experiences in my life was being able to voice EVERY Kapu Kapu character in Chu Chu Rocket! Universe, a game now strangely considered lost media. Chu Chu Rocket! was one of my absolute favorite games growing up, I couldn't believe I had this opportunity. On top of that, it was such a joy to work again with (absolute genius) Antony Lavelle. We were frequent collaborators in the Newgrounds.com days, voicing for his brilliant game Help the Hero, as well as a small part in his beloved SHIFT series. I thought this might be a stuffy experience since this was such a big property for a huge brand, but it was the exact opposite. Antony and I were laughing the entire time recording this, I believe you can even hear me start to crack up at the end of certain Chef Kapu lines (because, admittedly, my French accent is NOT GOOD) When the job is to do so many characters and be very cartoony, it's all about texture and variety for me. I tried to give every character not just a unique personality, but a unique sound quality. I didn't want any character to sound like any other character. For example, King Kapu was mostly back of the throat, Kap'n Kapu was all tight nasal, and Sargeant Kapu was very breathy.

My mother had a tremendous love of people, loved to entertain. All of my friends loved my mom and she loved them. Anyone who ever met mom tells me “she was the sweetest.” Her capacity to love was one of her greatest gifts, having her as our mom is ours. I still grieve for my mother every day, but I was fortunate to have my mom in my life for as long as I did, because nothing was left unsaid. She knew I loved her and I knew she loved me. I have said this before but it bears repeating; if you are fortunate enough to still have your mother, tell her you love her, if you can’t see her, call her. Try not to let petty grievances keep you apart because one day she will be gone and all you will have left are memories. Happy Mother’s Day to my momma and to all of the moms out there. 💐

Actor and longtime woodworker Nick Offerman says he has a "responsibility" to continue making things by hand as the world becomes more automated. "The whole point of being human is that I have this incredible set of skills," he said. "I have a brain, I have coordination, I can read a language, and I can then write that language, and that manifests the knowledge and culture that I have grown up learning." "Using tools and using my hands to make things allows me to participate as a citizen of the world in an active way that I consider even a responsibility," he added.
