It Takes What It Takes is my #1 most recommended book when people ask me what books shaped my thinking. The applications of the illusion of choice are far reaching. I would say that plus extreme ownership completely transformed my marriage.

Excellent breakdown. So true with culture hurdles today, even in workplace and at home. The illusion of choice is a powerful concept to understand and is fed by a lot of media and information today. Facts and reality typically win. Like gravity.

To build a few nuclear weapons from what they have initially, you could imagine it being done in weeks or months easily, and maybe even in weeks. They have the 60% enriched uranium hexafluoride. What they have to do is enrich it to 90%. That takes almost no time given the centrifuges. They have maybe a week. Then they have to convert the uranium hexafluoride, which is a special material. It looks like it’s a gas a lot of the time and sometimes a solid that looks like a salt. You have to convert it to uranium metal. You have to get the fluorine out of it. What advice would the Alabama football coach give him – a basketball player – to improve in his sport? Saban’s response is gold: “I think for any athlete, it's the same thing. What's your goal? What's your aspiration? What do you want to accomplish? That's the first thing. “Second thing is to define what it takes to do it. What does it entail for you to be the kind of basketball player that you want to be? “Then you got to make the decision. Are you willing to do that? Are you willing to go work every day and do the things you need to do and take 500 shots a day like Kobe Bryant did so that you can be the kind of player that you want to be? “And then do you have enough discipline to make yourself do it every day? Don’t let the “Get to do” crowd make you think that doing things you have to or need to isn’t where you’re supposed to be. We don’t have all have glamorous jobs or our dream jobs. Normally those are the jobs that people say they “Get to” do. Nothing is wrong with grinding to the bone until you’re you’re own boss or working from the bottom aiming for the time. Shoot, sometimes it’s about making sure everyone in your house is fed, cared for and clothed. Doing what has to be done is a necessity. It doesn’t make you a failure. It makes you a survivor. I can’t believe a person you would put your trust into, marry them, have kids with them and they can do this to you! And then have the nerve to get mad when we choose the bear. It’s really sicko and weird. Would you want this to happen to your daughter or sister or mother? I’m at a lost for words. For the men who say they are our allies, you have a lot of work to do. Men who get offended by this it’s because you know what men are actually capable of. Either you are them or so ashamed you don’t want to admit it. But it doesn’t stop it from happening. Damn damn damn. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ I just wish we had the same strength as men cause this would be a different story. I mean, it's like minus 25 degrees and then you attack the energy system. I mean, it's so crazy that only Russians would do such a thing. But this is how Russia is and it will not change. And I think our problem in Ukraine is still that there are still red lines when it comes to the weapons they can use to win this war. And you cannot win a war with the one hand tied on your back. We need to give them weapons so they can strike into Russia. We have had this discussion for several years. We are still discussing it. I mean, for the last three years on this conference, I have said, why are we not providing them the air defense that they need? And everybody is doing like this. They still lack air defense. You cannot protect a country without air defense. We know exactly what we need to deliver, including, of course, membership of NATO, because if they were a NATO member now, we would be in a completely different situation now. So, we know what to do.
