i’m so sick of the only TMNT related things in stores and in media being the 80’s cartoon. in all honestly the 80’s show isn’t even THAT good if you didn’t grow up with it. it has its moments the voice cast is great but that’s kind of it

Actually TMNT 2003 is a non-union production, which is why Nickelodeon rarely touches that incarnation outside of comics.

The funny thing is that, because Nick didn't have the rights to the old cartoon for years, they made lookalike stock art, which is still used all the time despite not actually looking like the 80's Turtles.

the '03 show had some silly plots, like when Mikey tried to be a superhero, or the flashback episode where when the Turtles were kids they ended up trying to train a young Casey Jones.

mine's been through four reboots and still can't decide if it wants to be gritty or goofy, so i feel the brand confusion deeply.

To be fair, the 1987 show is still the most popular one. The 2012 show gets just as much attention solely because they made it.

2003 is the undisputed GOAT. Serious enough to be a bit edgy, not serious enough to really kill off characters. This somehow led to Baxter having literal body horror episodes and Shredder dying a fucktrillion times and still being a threat. Based show

Why not mix 03' or 87'? Cartoons don't treat their kids today like they treated kids from the 90's and 2000's, growing up and knowing they are tougher than they look or are. ... That and the millennials are raising them on their DVD Collections.

Nick made like 2-3 of their own Turtles, only to want the 80s versions they didn't make or even air reruns of in their networks.
