I’m glad to see this being discussed finally. I worked in a rest home some years back and the dr prescribed nicotine patches for residents that never smoked. I asked why every resident had an order for it in their charts when none smoked. They said one reason is they believed it helped anxiety and Alzheimer’s. I thought it was so strange. But the patients that used the prescription for a patch swore by it. Amazing
