During a recent routine patrol by officers of Operation Delta Sweep, an individual accosted by them became unruly, questioned the lawful stop, and physically assaulted an officer by grabbing and dragging the officer's uniform. Contrary to what was being circulated, the officer involved is a member of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on official duty, not a Police Officer. 3.The State Government and all security agencies strongly condemn this act. Aku Victor man’s the Nigeria Police Force studios on the 7th floor at the Police Force Headquarters yesterday’s venue of our historic protest. It is strongly believed that CSP Muyiwa Adejobi deliberately instructed Aku Victor to seize the glasses under the mistaken assumption that they could extract and tamper with private footage contained in them. I do not believe for a second that the Nigeria Police Force Nigeria Police Force, under the illegal IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has any intention of withdrawing police officers from VIPs. This latest announcement is nothing more than a Christmas bonanza for the police hierarchy; the VIPs will double or even quadruple the "Christmas hampers" they give to officers in charge, and the cycle of preferential treatment will continue. Tinubu @offficialabat is not serious about the Nigeria Police reforming or redeeming itself; otherwise, he would never have granted an illegal tenure extension to Egbetokun, who is clearly incompetent. Suppose the government truly wants Nigerians to take this claim of withdrawal of police attachment to VIPs seriously, it must begin with transparency, the police must be forced to publish the complete list of VIPs currently enjoying police protection, state clearly how many officers are assigned to each individual or VIP groups, estates, companies, concubines, side chicks, and wherever, and publicly reassign those officers back to real police work across the country. Until that happens, this remains nothing but another dishonest pronouncement.
