We don't actually need compulsory voting. When the confidence of the people is restored in INEC and its processes. The people will come out and vote. But the question in everyone's lips is will your vote count? So why waste your time.

You’re saying rubbish @YIAGA, what will now happen to INEC chairman for incompetence in conducting elections siting Edo elections as a case study? Is he not supposed to be in jail by now?

Are we guaranteed free, fair and credible elections? Are we guaranteed that there will be no voters suppression by INEC and its officials? Will they ensure that all registered voters get their cards? And will not give it to party agents? Will election day thuggery be punished?

They know that given the way things are going, they may not have up to one million voters in the next presidential election. What's the point.

If only votes count, then there would be no need for a law to make it compulsory for people to vote. Good governance makes patriotism a natural response. But corruption, inefficiency, electoral fraud makes patriotism impossible. Another law that would add to the chaos we are in

It's definitely not work in this country

See Nigerian youth comparing Nigerian voting system with Australia, So you went to Australia to learn about their voting system, but did not learn Australian infrastructure? I told you people both young and old even the living ancestors are all the same, No fear of God
