Blk Americans... we are not Africans respect us and get it right

This is 💯 accurate. Black America’s cultural influence is global. We grew up with it in the UK, so the idea that Black Americans have “no culture” is ridiculous. Moving to America doesn’t make anyone superior to Black Americans. Signed, a Yoruba-Nigerian.

Its not just africans who do this. Indians do it. Mexicans do it. Asians do it. Somehow they come to the US and become superior to the American.

The funny and sad parts of the comments below state that the dream dies when they finally get close to us and realize they ARE better, not realizing the ppl they’re meeting are other immigrants who have only been here a cpl generations LMAO Who tf do you think was picking on y’all for being African and all that weird shit? Wasn’t us cause we wanted you here! We fought like hell for you too. Everybody in the 90s was bigging up African culture over here along with rocking the X hats, etc. We had no reason to shit on the ppl we fought to get here. What you should’ve been asking the ppl fuckin wit yall is where THEY were REALLY from. Guarantee it wasn’t here 🤷🏽♂️

We aren't African American; we are Black. AMERICA, STOP CALLING US AFRICAN AMERICAN.

Black American culture.Stop calling us African American

I am Nigerian and he is right 👍👍 We grew up listening to rkelly, Whitney Houston, 50 cent, MJ, they played on the radios everyday Our hairstyles were modelled after Black Americans We watched black American homemade video films

🎯 Very weird dynamic. Imitating a people while simultaneously mocking them. Just like whites...

He’s not lying about the influence but we also grew up wanting to be superheroes, cartoon characters, Asian taekwondo fighters(Jackie Chan),Hindi dancers and a long list of other things we saw on what is his point?

He is 100% right until you get the opportunity to come to America and you see the life FBA live then you start to say “Congratulations we played ourselves”😂😂😂😂😂😂

💯🤷🏾♂️

Hello, Africa 👋🏽 You do know we’re still alive, right? And Gen X kept the receipts. We remember EVERYTHING. 😂

Thank you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.The funny one is when a black American tells an AFRICAN IMMIGRANT that he’s not black and the guy gets angry. Bro, we know your skin is black, but you’re not BLACK, as in BLACK AMERICAN!!!!! But they want to be, so they get angry when you say they’re not

I grew up idolizing Indians because I watched a lot of their movies. Why should that matter ? It’s just childish stuff

So how did it turn from idolization to hating us?

It's actually crazy. Why can't people be humble guests wherever they go? This is the problem with opening up one's borders too far.

🤷🏾♂️

If African kids idolized them, it’s because they were like us… we would consider them as our own … aside that who would wanna be like a black American ?? What at all do they have to offer ?

Bro you so right about this even watching Nickelodeon or Disney seeing black Americans being all cool we all wanted to be like them the music too was influential so I was suprised when I started travelling that these folks don't seem to like us what have we done now

Envy !

Majority don’t deny this. From Millennials onwards, we all grew up on hiphop, we all grew up reading source, if you wanted Phatfarm, Rocawear etc you go to “Land of Plenty”. You’re just stuck cherry-pick instances to support whatever narrative you want to push.

While having contempt for us at the same time but okay.

@BoldBlackfoot He's an Outlier !

There's a reason why most Africans get upset when called out. 📢 They know we know.

Duh

We already know this

💯At least He’s honest.

Dang

😆.

Influenced by some of y'all not all

Fck nigeria. No single African grows up wishing to visit Nigeria or to have naija's sandpaper accent.

Bro that is no secret..bro! You can do that when you are not confused about who you are. Lol

Shit is crazy
