everybody uses this scene as ‘proof’ she wasn’t in to him, but idk. She gives him a FREE CHANCE to say how he feels. When he doesn’t? She says ‘good’, but what else can she say? Her deliveey and actions after Bear says that feel more awkward to me than relieved. And yeah, maybe a bit of disappointment too.

The movie is most impactful if you read the exchange as she was hiding feelings and might’ve shared them with Bear if he’d just said yes.

The actor did such a good job portraying such an unconfident man, I actually despised his actions. He was the bad guy.

Personally, I think Nikki did like Bear. NOBODY asks you, “Do you like me? This is the moment to tell me.” Clearly she knew he liked her, and she was interested enough to confront him and create a situation where he would act. Bear was simply an idiot who didn’t knew what to do

I feel like she just saw the signs he was into her or probably Ian told her, and wanted to end that shit right there if he said yes, telling him he is just like a brother to her, he doesn't want to lose him as a fri3nd

The director said they did two different takes of multiple scenes. One where she liked him and one where she didn’t. They did this to splice the takes and make it ambiguous scene to scene. This appears to be a “she liked him” take.

He’s transparent af and she knows he likes her, and she’s disappointed he doesn’t respect her enough to be honest about it.

I think it’s more that she KNEW he had feelings, having been told so by Ian, yet when he said they were good friends was confused/shocked, then locked back to “good” because she genuinely is glad that the friendship won’t be tainted by him having feelings.

Nikki had feelings for bear here and seems disappointed bear did not admit it here. It’s truly tragic because if he admitted here honestly, I feel Nikki would have given bear a chance at a romantic relationship. Also want to say this is Nikki’s best outfit in the movie, she looks

I subscribe to the theory that Nikki was open to dating Bear. It makes the movie that more tragic.

Here's what I think and I could be totally wrong. I don't think a girl would ask this unless she felt some type of way. If she really didn't like him, she'd try to completely avoid the topic I think. But I don't think they would've worked as a couple anyways.
