Ninja expressed intense frustration with Embark Studios over rampant cheating in ARC Raiders, warning that their failure to address it will drive away top players and kill the game's potential. Do you ever encounter cheaters in your games, or are streamers the only victims? 🤔

Not fully, but to a certain extent. A lot of player's playing decisions are influenced by what their favourite streamers are playing.

Not once, 300 hours, inplay mostly solos with likely mid range agression based match making

Same, never encountered any cheaters. Seems like only streamers are being targeted.

I’m going to be direct. Drive away top players? Who actually gives a fuck? I enjoy watching various streamers but them being sweaty at a game doesn’t make me want the game. STFU your opinion is about as regarded as the fucking political parties running your country. Go back to Warzone you moaning, entitled boy.

Not once. I hate these streamers that do this; especially @Ninja. He notoriously cries about everything. Dude was on a rant about cars in Fortnite that one season. But I’ve never ran into cheaters on Arc. Maybe streamers should make precautions to avoid stream sniping.

It’s ok to take a break from a game. Also not all games are meant to be 8-12 hour grinds. I love watching streamers, i understand they try to help Devs but sometimes they hurt games more than helping. Streamers like Ninja and Shroud will have viewers no matter what they play.

I’ve not noticed any cheaters in my games, but of course streamers are going to constantly run into them when they’re at the max of this aggression based matchmaking, and if you lose the streamers you lose a big chunk of the players too

Cheaters are a high skill players problem due to sbmm and the casual player bases mindset towards streamers will put the game on a fast track towards death like it's genuinely baffling reading some of these replies

I watch Ninja Nade and SYM trigger nade teams into oblivion! They started this mess so they can enjoy the “cheaters” they play against. These are the “retired” gamers that are above 30 yrs old getting smoke by 12-24 year olds

Fucking sick of streamers. Gamers carry games. Good devs carry the games when they listen to the community. Embark did a great job so far and will make improvements over time.

Why do streamers believe that they're the only reasons people play a game?! Ladies and Gentlemen, I VOW, if I ever make it big, my conceited ass will have the same mindset.

Played for over 400 hours and have not once encountered a cheater and I’m on pc. Maybe these streamers should hide there screens more

I think Peanut is funny but I couldn’t give a flying fuck If he leaves the game. The bungulator streamer war was incredibly stupid. Yes, stop cheaters for sure, but I don’t care at all if they are stream sniped on every game. That is the price of making all that money

Critical feedback should be respectful. Congrats to everyone getting fans to watch over the years I guess… but it doesn’t give streamers the right to preside over anything in the hobby in such an overbearing way. He knew it would be entitled and lame to say, because it is.

never encountered a cheater in the 300+ hours of gameplay. i think streamers are in the minority because the cheaters want to pull reactions out of them

There is only one time I was pretty sure I was against a cheater, and I've got a lot of hours on the game. I think the complaint is way overblown. Dudes get their ass handed to them and can't admit that they just weren't the better man for the moment.

The worst thing that can happen to this game is Arc Raider devs LISTENING to streamers 😂 these f*ckers will abandon the game the moment a new game is out yet they pretend to care

I have yet to encounter anyone but it is most likely because of the matchmaking system. I do see lots of people say they encounter cheaters in the Arc Raiders discord but honestly I think it's amplified because you have streamers talking about.

It shouldn’t matter if it’s “only streamers” there shouldn’t be cheating or hacking in any video game. So these game devs need to fork out a ton of money to these “hackers” and get them on board to work against it. Simple

Games marketing is broken. After raising over $50M to support and work with hundreds of studios over the last 6 years, I find that the biggest problem is studios’ lack of direct connection with their players. Over the last six years, I’ve watched talented teams struggle because they never had a clear way to reach, learn from, and grow with players over time. Without that connection, everything becomes harder - validation, iteration, community growth, and retention all turn into guesswork. For most of the games industry’s history, platforms have controlled identity, communication, and distribution, which are invaluable to a game’s success. Apple limited how studios could collect and use player contact information outside the App Store, and Steam still doesn’t give studios access to the contact details of players who wishlist or sign up for playtests. Studios are left without a direct relationship with the audience they’re trying to serve. As a result, studios rely on fragmented tools and spreadsheets to manage players across different stages of development and live operations, with no continuity from first contact through long-term engagement. Today, that changes with the launch of FirstLook 1.0. FirstLook is the first Player Relationship Platform built specifically for games. It gives studios everything they need to connect with players across the full lifecycle, including playtests and feedback, community and communications, analytics, rewards, and creator programs, all in one place. We’ve been building under the radar, but FirstLook already powers hundreds of studios, from indies to publishers like Krafton, ArenaNet, and Skybound Entertainment, connecting millions of players with the developers who make the games they love. As part of the launch, we’re introducing a brand new limited time free plan, with access to all our features for up to 500 players. You can set this up now in under 10 minutes. If you want to learn more, book a demo and we guarantee that you will save you time and money and help you grow. Links in comments!
