A shooting at Nipsey Hussle's Marathon Burger grand-opening in Long Beach, Calif., over the weekend left multiple people injured and one person killed. On Sunday (March 1), the Long Beach Police Department responded to reports of shots being fired at the location around 3:30 p.m. The LBPD tells XXL that three people were injured during the shooting and transported to a local hospital, where one victim died as a result of being shot. The two other victims are in stable condition. At this time, there are no suspects in custody. Snoop Dogg, who has invested in the restaurant, and Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson were present for the restaurant's opening. A rep for the burger chain tells news outlet KTLA that the shooting was not related to the event. Podcast host Poetik Flakko shared an account of what happened on social media. He claims issues popped off after a gang member came into the restaurant and tried to start problems. According to Flakko, the guy and his crew were escorted off the property by Nipsey Hussle's brother, Blacc Sam, and his team. However, this allegedly led to a fight and eventual gunshots. The shooting occurred a day after Nipsey was honored in a ceremony naming the South Los Angeles intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue "Nipsey Hussle Square."
