Spencer Pratt would have to lose to Raman in mail-in ballots that haven't been counted by 14%—assuming that Karen Bass holds at her 35% total from election day in the mail-in ballots, as well. This is enormously unlikely that Nithya Raman would beat Pratt by 14% in the mail-in ballots because Pratt beat Raman in in-person voting by 8%. So that would require a shift of 22% in order for Raman to defeat Pratt by that margin, which is ridiculous. It's absurd.

As more results continue to be tallied, Nithya Raman has officially overtaken Spencer Pratt for second place, while incumbent Mayor Karen Bass maintains her strong lead. As votes continue to be counted, it's still unknown who will face Bass in the November runoff election. As of Sunday, only about 3,000 votes separate Raman and Pratt. Now that the LA Mayoral Forum, here are my thoughts, which I also told ABC7 Eyewitness News in an interview: Karen Bass is the CLEAR winner. While Bass is horrible, Nithya Raman is FAR worse. Raman wants LAPD to cut ties with ICE, Bass says they’ll “collaborate” esp on Olympics & cited ICE’s good behavior during World Cup. Raman contradicted herself many times on homeless, ignoring the fact that she was CHAIR of the homeless committee. Bass, however, did admit that the clock is ticking on removing ALL homeless from the streets, acknowledging for perhaps the first time that before the Olympics, jurisdiction will be transferred to the FEDS, who will “sweep out” the homeless themselves. On fires & public safety, Raman had literally no clue whereas Bass (a total failure) at least acknowledged we need better brush clearance, more firefighters, and other changes (forgetting we need water!). Finally, Raman supports Hassan Piker, claims Israel is committing genocide & supports BDS against Israel. As much as I hate saying I hope Bass wins, compared to Raman there’s no other choice. Plus with Bass, we get a maximum of 4 years whereas Raman could get us 8 YEARS of DSA hell. No way. (Sorry video quality sucks. My mom was recording and it wasn’t intended for this!)
