On May 28, NBC 2 Houston reported that Allstar JR has been hit with state charges in addition to federal charges, in connection with the shooting of Ben10 and others at a Houston restaurant on April 8. Investigators have revealed that Ben10 is paralyzed from the waist down after being shot in the spine. “Based on the extent of the injuries, the prognosis for [NBA Ben10] is that he will have irreversible paralysis of his lower extremities,” investigators wrote in state court records. The NBA YoungBoy affiliate, born Ben Fields, was also one of three people reportedly shot in Baton Rouge, La., last month. The latest update comes a day after Ben10 shared a video on social media of himself in a wheelchair.

On Oct. 10, the Memphis rapper was a guest on gospel singer Kirk Franklin's Den of Kings YouTube channel along with Dr. Jay Barnett, comedian KevOnStage, Ray J, and actor Jonathan Majors, for a roundtable conversation. During the chat, NLE talked about taking a four-month break from music. "I just sat down for three or four months. I took a break," NLE revealed. "I could have made 4, 5, 6, $10 million. I left it all on the plate to sit down because something in my spirit wasn't right." NLE says that during that time, he returned to his roots in Memphis and got grounded. He went on a 112-day "seek" where he journaled in nature and got closer to God. "He gave me dreams," NLE continued. "People that I needed to get away from, snakes, rats, whoever. He put everything under a microscope in my life." While NLE has been on a deep spiritual journey, he still has questions about institutional religion. On Thursday (April 9), Fox 26 Houston reported on the shooting, which occurred at Confessions restaurant. The incident started after multiple men attempted to rob another man of his jewelry. A fight ensued, with multiple men pouncing on the robbery victim. He subsequently pulled out a gun and began opening fire, striking two individuals. Many people online have identified one of the shooting victims as NBA Ben10. One man was shot in the torso and the other man was shot in his arms and legs. However, it is unclear if the shooting victims were part of the robbery or bystanders. The shooter then fled the scene. The Houston Police Department is currently investigating the shooting. The owner of Confessions has released the following statement to Fox 26 about the shooting. "Confessions does not condone violence of any kind, and we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for any behavior that compromises the safety and well-being of our guests and staff," the statement reads. JUST IN: Pennsylvania judge convicted of trying to execute her sleeping boyfriend by shooting him in the head. Magisterial judge Sonya M. McKnight shot her then-boyfriend in the temple while he was sleeping last year. The incident happened after Michael McCoy tried ending their relationship, telling her to move out of the home. When McCoy told McKnight he was serious about her moving out, she said, "oh, so you're serious." This was the last thing McCoy heard from McKnight before he was woken up to "massive head pain" and was blind. McCoy was rushed to the hospital where a gunshot wound to his head was found. The bullet reportedly entered McCoy's right temple and exited his left temple, according to the New York Post. The bullet was millimeters from ending his life. This wasn't the first time that McKnight shot one of her partners. During an incident with her former husband, the judge shot him in the groin after telling him to move furniture. She wasn't prosecuted at the time because she claimed "self-defense." McKnight faces 60 years in prison.
