After a very long, and quite active Summer, that is all about to change, with a much quieter pattern coming in through this week and next week (perhaps longer). The large upper ridge that has been stuck over the Southern U.S. is likely to retreat back West again, but also broaden out, leading to much more quiescent flow across much of the CONUS. Some isolated severe weather may occur late this week, but probabilities for organized severe weather will remain on the lower-end for the next 7-10 (or more) days.

Morning Update Focus: North Georgia down to the Metro. Last night behaved about as expected. Lighter precipitation fell across a wide footprint that was affected by CAD. This wide footprint was well forecasted by the NWS as you see the footprint still slightly past I-75 and south of I-20 on the early run of the radar. We have maybe a lull in precipitation, though I doubt it will be a complete lull before the line of thunderstorms and yes, thunder-ice moves through the area stacking ice totals quickly. The warm nose will slowly begin to lift north and eastward, however as you see portrayed by the 10z HRRR, the areas that are CAD prone never rise above freezing (I’m gonna hold off on gloating about calling that one cause it hasn’t happened yet), while the heart of the line pushes through. This is going to be interesting I’m about to get outside and check. I’m expecting to see around .25-.40 already in Lumpkin County. But let me get the morning going (coffee!)

The heat dome ridge peaks overhead early tomorrow, then slowly begins to collapse. As it does so, this opens the door for thunderstorms fire up, as the suppressing subsidence forcing associated with the high pressure dome goes with it. This does not mean we cool off fast though, dangerous heat and humidity will continue through the weekend. Because of this, any storms that do fire, could easily become strong to severe. We are outlooked for severe weather on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in the DC region. Friday: Marginal risk. We're still under the capping influence of the ridge most of the day, so any storms that do fire should be isolated in nature. Most models keep the majority of the region sunny & dry again. Just can't rule out a few pop-up, especially later in the day if there is a complex in PA during the late afternoon, at it's outflow could come south and trigger storms. Saturday: Slight risk. We'll be in the sweet spot for ridge riders...strong thunderstorms riding the outskirts of the weakening heat some. Storms will likely fire over the mountains during the peak heat of the day (1-4pm) and then shift eastward as their outflow boundaries trigger additional storms. Won't wash out the 4th, but there is serious concern that storms will impact events downtown for at least a period of time Saturday evening. We will be here monitoring. Sunday: Ample energy ahead of a cold front which should put an end to this intense heatwave...but may do so with some intense storms. Will have to monitor for scattered severe storms, or possible squall line type system to come through. We're in an extended day 4 slight risk from SPC as things stand right now. GRAF only goes out through early Sunday morning at the moment, but I've got the latest run for you below. We'll keep you updated on timing and will be here all weekend watching radar for you as events go on downtown.

We just released a new marketing site and I wanted to talk through some of the changes that we made and why. Design thinking is the other side of the feed, it's usually more nuanced than the flashier parts and typically doesn't hold up as well to a quick scroll. Doesn't bode well for this thread! But, this will be my attempt to talk through the changes made and why. First up, this is our new hero. At Loops.so, our goal right now is to be the only platform you need to email your users The H1 matches that intention and the subheader reinforces it. We also wanted it to be clear we ship fast and often, so we added a pill showing the latest featured changelog. Agents are part of how people build software today, so we wanted to give that the second most important placement on the page, right after signup. Finally, the logo strip should not distract too much, but it should still help people understand these are users, not just logos. So we added the date of first payment from Stripe next to each logo. Next up, more things!

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day feature the most impressive severe thunderstorm setup I’ve seen along the California coastline in at least a decade. The first round of isolated severe thunderstorms will come ashore tonight, bringing the threat of a isolated tornado and severe wind gusts over 60 mph from the Central Coast up to Humboldt County. The severe weather threat then expands into the Central Valley during the afternoon, California’s tornado alley, with the potential for isolated tornadoes, damaging winds, and even large hail. The threat then shifts south into Southern California tomorrow, where isolated severe wind gusts and a brief tornado will be possible. However, Christmas Eve into Christmas morning features the most potent severe weather environment of the week and could lead to a severe thunderstorm outbreak along the coastline from the Central Coast up to the North Coast. The combination of strong low-level and deep-layer shear with sufficient instability is rarely seen in this part of the world. I seriously cannot recall seeing Significant Tornado Parameter (STP) values exceed 3 along the California coastline. The peak threat window appears to be from 10 PM Thursday to 8 AM Friday. It would not be out of the question to see a Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued Christmas Eve night with the potential for a couple tornadoes and scattered severe wind gusts. I also believe this may be the first time on record that San Francisco has been placed under a Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorms in the Day 1–3 NWS Storm Prediction Center Convective Outlooks.

Aidan O'Connell gets sacked on his final play last night and in my opinion the sack is on the #Raiders QB just as much as it is on LT Andrus Peat. AOC has a 3 step drop which means the play is designed for him to get the ball out quick. If you don't get the ball out then a QB is going to need to Create something. But what you don't want him to do is back pedal into a sack. Peat does lose the rep, but he does a good job recovering and pushing the DE up the field. I think AOC's ability to feel pressure, get away from it, and throw on the run were some things I saw from him last year where he struggled with. So I do hope next week he shows a little bit more in that. Overall the play didn't work because Luke Getsy designed a really poor play where the spacing is off, I will talk about this more on my Youtube channel later today but you can clearly see that Bowers was supposed to be a natural pick for Tre Tucker at the bottom of the screen. But the spacing didn't work and the WR and TE run into each other.

This is one of my turntables for Bumblebee's damage variant from Transformers Rise of the Beasts. We use renders like these to critique our work on the characters in a sterile environment before putting them into shots. Normally, fans don't get to see these behind the scenes looks at our characters, but I convinced the marketing team to also include this turntable in the official breakdown for the film as I think it is super cool to see how the characters are made and brought to life. I have so much behind the scenes work to share about Transformers but unfortunately 99% of it is under NDA so the odds are that no one else will ever see them, as unfortunate as that is.

So, my opinion on what the Antarctic (Antarctica) Anomaly is that it's a type of frequency technology. It must be way more powerful than HAARP, as many have claimed it to be, because we would see these anomalies at other HAARP sites, and we don't, not like this. With that said, and I'm very much trying to avoid letting what I want it to be not play a part here, I think it is a technology that is being used either off the coast of Antarctica itself or Bouvet Island. A third possibility is an area just to the northwest of the island that looks odd. It's possible it is a sonar scan from a ship, but why in that remote location? It looks like an antenna set up or rows of something that is out of place. I also believe that the weather events and fires that have taken place in Africa could possibly have been because of this. Each time we saw the anomaly, it was followed by a destructive weather event in Africa. A weird connection to that is we have been told and warned of a very busy 2024 Atlantic hurricane season. This is in part because of the above-average Atlantic ocean temperatures, which is the fuel to Hurricanes. With all this info, it's possible to see how the Anomaly could be a frequency tech that can manipulate or create weather, And or WARM up the Ocean temps to purposely enhance the Hurricane season and Storm growth. Keep in mind that many of our hurricanes and many of the biggest hurricanes have come from the west coast of Africa and form over the Cape Verde islands before heading towards the Caribbean and the United States. This is all of course speculation, and I'm learning many new things every day, so this idea may morph over time as we learn more. Work has begun on my breakdown of the April 27, 2026, Moderate Risk severe weather event across the Midwest and Mid-South. Forecasts called for numerous supercells with intense, long-track tornadoes, particularly in the open warm sector, but this did not materialize, as warm sector supercells failed to sustain. Of the ~22 tornadoes that occurred from the afternoon of the 27th into the morning of the 28th, all were weak and most were short-lived. In this video, we'll discuss the meteorology behind the event, including several reasons why the event significantly underperformed in the tornado department. Stay tuned!

Woke up to severe rain before 5am this morning. Got a flash flood alert about 6:00. What is falling from the sky right now? It’s more than just water. It’s easy to see with the naked eye but trying to capture it on video is not easy. You might think everything is just a rain drop but these small particles aren’t falling like the rain is, more like floating to the ground. If it was winter I might assume it’s snow but it’s not. On this clip everything that looks like a line is rain. Watch the speed it falls and compare it to the small particles that are traveling much slower. Some of the small bits are flying sideways and up. That’s not rain.

Good morning from the Global Sumud Flotilla. We were on alert last night because of increased drone activity, but all is well today. As of this morning, we are 39 boats sailing together (a few had to be left behind in Sicily), and I’ve been told six more are ready to meet us from Greece on Wednesday. I’ll record a proper video update later today, but we’re now just FIVE DAYS from the ‘orange line’ where we **could** face Israeli interception, and ONE WEEK from the shores of Gaza. This morning we’ve been doing more training for interception. As always, the emphasis is on non-violence. Gaza, we are coming 🇵🇸❤️

I feel like there is some kind of stagnation in my soul. I don't feel hopeless or tired, but suddenly everything became less interesting. I have to do something to wake up my soul so I can go back to how I was. I am the one who insisted on living, even if life was only room for my feet. I wonder what happened to me. I have become just a mass of flesh without a soul. I lost my passion and love for life.. My dear friends and loved ones .. This is your friend Mo from Gaza and this is an update The military operation is still continuing in northern Gaza... and there are more evacuation orders for the north and more displacement. I heard from one of the merchants that he has some cat food in Jabalia... but the area is dangerous there... Approximately he has 15 to 20 boxes Each box contains 24 cans Despite that, I said let's try to go, but we have to be careful... I went with my cousin Animal world We went to the furthest place we could reach. The picture below shows us at the Qurm Junction, and anyone who is in Gaza knows that it is the entrance to Jabalia... Unfortunately, we did not dare to approach any closer than that... We heard the sounds of explosions and saw plumes of smoke and the sounds of gunfire. Drones were flying densely over our heads. So we backed down and decided to go again today.. but the weather is very, very rainy today.. We will go again on Wednesday.. I wish we had access to cat food. It is more beneficial for them.. My friends and loved ones.. There is still the possibility of donating to buy the largest possible amount of food for them Or on the PayPal link It appears that the talks have reached a dead end. In this case, I should buy as much as possible. Today we can buy.. Who knows? Perhaps we will not be able to go and search in a few days... as I am doing now... 🇮🇷Many on X are reporting that Iran's 2 largest cities "have fallen" to protesters They are referring to Tehran and Mashhad While this cannot be verified, I definitely don't expect the cities to be "under the control" of protesters, as that would be the end of the regime. What I assume is happening is law enforcement retreating, likely to their headquarters. But it is unlikely the cities have fallen. A heavy-anded crackdown is coming. Expect violence. But also don't expect the regime to last much longer based on how things are looking.

Winter Weather Advisory ⚠️ for Lake Cook Dupage and Will counties and south from there from 6PM Saturday to 6PM Sunday If it was just system #snow giving us a glancing blow from the expansive southern storm dumping every type of weather from #Chicago to the gulf coast, an easy forecast of 1”-4” north to south would be on the table But dance with the devil we must as Lake Michigan sits poised to be either a reluctant dance partner or the lead tango dancer in the snow show Forecasts range from 2”-9” in the city. 2” means no lake impact, 9” means we get a long duration lake feed I’m leaning toward the latter, as entrenched cold air, mid and low level wind convergence over the lake, a lengthy North-Northeast wind fetch and still open mid lake surface water should be enough to loft even a little moisture 2-3 miles upward to feast on an excellent snowflake growth zone that will feed into the immediate Chicago shore areas and add another 3”-5” to the system snow. Another tricky point is the ratio of liquid to snowfall. Usually we see a 10 to 1 mix. 0.1” liquid=1” snow. This cold air here will double that to 20 to 1 so even an extra 1/4 inch of liquid would be 5” of snow (0.25x20=5.0) to add in And by immediate shore areas I could see Midway getting double what O’Hare gets. Like Cicero Ave and east being a cutoff Here’s the model variance. Snow would start to trickle in about sunset Saturday and just hang out thru much of Sunday into the afternoon.

UPDATE: my wife and I agreed last night, that if Echo puked at all this morning, even once even a little bit, or if he refused to eat…. we would be taking him to the vet for a sonogram because our concern at that point would be a spleen or a pancreas or a blockage of some kind - but I am happy to report that Echo managed to eat a third full cup of chicken and rice assertively today and no puking yet. So that’s probably 3 cups in total, today with no pukes. We are in the process of rebuilding the stomach lining that was puked out mostly all over my driveway over the past day and a half. It really does feel like we’ve been able to get things stabilized now. THANKS AGAIN, for all the incoming love and support and prayers. I’m like 80% we’re on the mend now. We even got in a short walk at the park, today. (notice the IV shaving on the right front leg).

Saturday April 18, 2026, 7:50 PM: The latest satellite shows an incoming robust late-season Pacific storm into all of California starting Monday at 10PM to Tuesday at 7PM. The 545 DM low axis, approximately 240 miles northwest of San Francisco, continues to intensify greatly due to escalating warming of the Pacific, and a piece of embedded impulse from a typhoon near Guam will eject into this system. The main low axis will form a secondary low near San Luis Obispo to western Los Angeles counties late on Monday afternoon. This actually may further escalate the stronger surface cold front that will maintain all way through Southern California especially Los Angeles County. Perhaps even grazing Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties. In addition to this, there will also be severe thunderstorms that will be associated with the system, especially up into the Bay Area just south of Sacramento and Fresno. There could be isolated tornadoes as well on Tuesday afternoon. I'm watching this developing situation closely in the next 24 - 36 hours. The snow levels remain 5,500 feet for Lake Tahoe and Mammoth Mountain and that includes Yosemite Valley, where snowfall accumulation can reach 12 to 36 inches of snow by Wednesday afternoon. #CAwx #winterisback

Lady Gaga says you have committed violence by objecting to her celebration of Dylan Mulvaney on International Women’s Day. “It's appalling to me that a post about National Women's Day by Dylan Mulvaney and me would be met with such vitriol and hatred. When I see a newspaper reporting on hatred but calling it ‘backlash’ I feel it is important to clarify that hatred is hatred, and this kind of hatred is violence. “Backlash would imply that people who love or respect Dylan and me didn't like something we did. This is not backlash. This is hatred. “But it is not surprising given the immense work that it's obvious we still have to do as a society to make room for transgender lives to be cherished and upheld by all of us. “I feel very protective in this moment, not only of Dylan, but of the trans community who continues to lead the way with their endless grace and inspiration in the face of constant degradation, intolerance, and physical, verbal, and mental violence.
