One main difference is, in the US they concentrated the poor in the inner cities. In most of the rest of the world, the poorest classes live in the banlieue, the favelas around the city. The contrasting depictions of Paris is always footage of the center opposed to the banlieue.

It is a cesspool since France invaded Alguire. Only 6th, 7th, 8th, and 16th arrondissements are relatively safe to walk. The rest is North Africa burning cars and rioting. Whites to not take Metro or Paris Réseau Express Régional (RER), it is super dangerous.

Most of those who criticize Paris are those who can't afford to go there on vacation, and especially not to live there. It's very often jealousy and frustration. The problem areas are often outside of Paris, in the suburbs.
