No, a comment is needed. Both the governments are responsible. Liberal soft on crime bills C-75 and Bill C-5 gave high priority to releasing repeat violent offenders and took away mandatory jail time for certain violent crimes. The man that caused this had about 100 interactions with police- that last one the day before he did this.
