This is the GOAT move of all time. Sakic told Ray to go get it but he refused because he's not the captain and then this happened. Then Ray tried to hand it back and Sakic tells him to skate it. Absolute boss.

The presentation of the Stanley Cup is the best in pro sports. Can't stand the NBA and NFL presentation of their championship trophies, where the owner and/or team execs get their mitts on it first before the players.

Not as awesome but close. As a Flyers fan seeing Kimmo Timonen get traded to the Blackhawks at the deadline and then not only playing in (I think) Game 7 but Toews handing him the cup immediately...

It's not fair that I don't get to hear Bill Clement calling hockey regularly

This and when Andreychuk finally won it with the Bolts. He went to pass it and the entire team waived him off and told him to go skate with it.

One of if not my favorite sports memories of all time. The call, the crowd reaction, his family crying, it’s perfect. I still feel emotional about it when I watch it. Such an epic, epic call.

Ray Bourque was involved in the two most selfless plays in sports. Here he received. In this one, he gives.

Comes close: Ray Bourque surprised Phil Esposito the night his number was retired. Bourque removed his number 7 sweater, the one Esposito made famous, to reveal that he would now be wearing number 77 so 7 could be raised to the rafters for Espo.
