PRIORITIZE SINGLE LEG STRENGTH❗️ Squat & Deadlift do NOT always have to be your main lower body lifts. There are plenty of ways to get strong. Here are some MAJOR benefits of prioritizing single leg lifts: 1️⃣ Exposes strength & balance inefficiencies & inequalities. Strong on 2 legs doesn’t mean strong on 1 leg.. Strong on each leg does mean strong on 2 legs. I’ve seen enough strong squats & deadlifts get buried with single leg exercises. Typically isn’t true the other way around. 2️⃣ Less back pain. Regardless of their technique, some athletes experience back pain from squatting & deadlifting. YOU DO NOT NEED TO SQUAT OR DEADLIFT TO GET STRONG… Single leg exercises can alleviate that pain. Less load, similar intensities, similar benefits. 3️⃣ “Sports are played on 1 leg.” I’ve heard this plenty of times and there is definitely a ton of truth to it. Movements are very single leg dependent. Sprinting, stopping, changing direction, jumping, landing. Single leg training can be the key to higher performance and less risk for injury. 4️⃣ Less learning curve. Beginners can immediately reap the rewards of single leg training because of how easy it is to implement. Something as simple as sitting on a bench and standing up using 1 leg is challenging for someone who has never done it. No bar on the back, no picking up weight, no teaching hip hinge.. Simple single leg training will buy athletes time to train while simultaneously improving squat and deadlift technique.

Let’s talk side to side imbalances cause I know A LOT OF PEOPLE are (A) dealing with these and (B) confused about how to remedy them…. (This post will be LOWER BODY focused) For starters, if you’ve got a large side to side discrepancy…these are going to be the exercises you’ll want to use to help even that out: (In no particular order) - Smith Split Squats - Single Leg Press - Single Leg Extension - Single Leg Seated Ham Curls - Single Leg Prone Ham Curls - Single Leg 45° Extensions - B Stance Smith/Machine Glute Bridges - Single Leg Calf Press Here is the SIMPLE PROTOCOL you’ll using when performing these exercises to help even out your side to side imbalance: When performing a unilateral exercise… - Start with the weaker side - Take set to target RIR - Match reps on stronger side (even if you have more left to give) NO REST NEEDED between sides if a discrepancy is present FWIW…if you were performing a unilateral exercise and NO discrepancy were present, the play would be to take ample rest (2-3+ minutes) between sides — you are almost treating it as two separate sets in this instance ONE FINAL VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Side to side imbalance are NOT abnormal They are NOT even PROBLEMATIC unless the gap is large enough If you have (let’s say) a 5% discrepancy from right to left (or vice versa), there really isn’t a need to bias heavily toward unilateral exercises If, however, that gap is closer to (let’s say) 10, 15, 20+%…you’d be wise to bias toward the unilateral exercises and protocol listed above until the gap shrinks to a more reasonable size (perhaps <10%)

Strong legs are the foundations of a stable posture, yet many let theirs weaken over time. You lose your ability to move and stand upright. Much of my work with chronic pain clients involves strengthening the legs. This video shows 8 essential lower body motions: 1- Hip Extensions Standing upright involves straightening your torso to align it with your lower body, an extension of your hips executed by your Glutes and Hamstrings. The problem is you sit on these muscles all day, weakening them over the years to the point where they fail to do their job. Your lower back picks up the slack against its will and becomes overworked. I'll start chronic pain clients with Hip Bridges on the floor to ensure everything is balanced, then progress to Hip Thrusts and eventually Standing exercises like the Romanian Deadlift. As for the Deadlift off the floor, those are great if you can access a barbell or kettlebell. - Hip Bridge (0:05) - Hip Thrust (0:11) - Romanian Deadlift (0:17) - Deadlift (0:23) 2- Split Squats Split Squats are excellent for strengthening the knees. In the case of a chronic pain client, I use them to stretch the quad and Hip Flexors of the back leg, which are often extremely stiff due to sitting. This stiffness makes the body collapse forward and is often the limiting factor when people try this exercise for the first time. I'll start someone with the Front Foot elevated because it's easier on the front leg and gives a great stretch, then progress to flat and rear foot elevated. - Front foot elevated (0:30) - Flat (0:36) - Rear-foot elevated (0:42.2) 3- Lunges Lunges are the dynamic version of the Split Squat. Besides being excellent for strengthening your leg muscles, the one thing I love about this exercise is that it teaches you how to brace yourself as your foot lands. Many people lack the core strength to absorb an impact. Lunges develop that shock absorption capacity, especially when done with weights. Ensure you have mastered the Split Squats before doing them, and use different directions to target your muscles differently. - Forward (0:48) - Back (0:54.7) - Side (1:07) 4- Squats The king of all exercises is crucial for your ascension. The vertical motion improves your ability to overcome the world's weight crashing down upon you. It's also an amazing Glute and Quad stretch in the bottom position. I'll start chronic pain clients with the bodyweight variation before progressing them to weighted and eventually one-legged, also known as Pistol Squats. Doing one leg at a time is one of the best ways to balance your body's left and right sides from head to toe. - Body weight (1:12.5) - Loaded (1:19) - Pistol (1:25.5) 5- Step-ups Step-ups are amongst my favorite one-sided exercises to strengthen the Glutes and Quads. They are excellent for improving the stability of your hips and abdominal muscles. Use the Front and Lateral variations to maximize your results. - Front (1:31.5) - Lateral (1:38) 6 - Leg Curls Leg Curls strengthen the lower attachment of your Hamstrings. They are an integral part of my knee and lower back recovery programs because many people are weak due to sitting. I'll have chronic pain clients use a towel to create muscle resistance, though you can do them standing to get some much-needed blood flow. The best way to benefit from this exercise is by using an exercise ball or a machine at the gym. - Standing (1:43) - Towel (1:49) - Exercise ball (1:55.4) - Machine (2:02.1) 7- Adductions The inner thigh muscles become problematic when people sit with their legs crossed. They either get stiff or weak depending on whether you cross one leg over the other or with your foot on the opposite knee. I love Copenhagen Planks to restore the balance in your adductors. - Knee-bent (2:08.8) - Straight-leg (2:14) 8- Calf Raises The ankles are the cornerstone of your posture because they affect the alignment of every other joint above. Strong Calves are essential to their stability, yet many omit them from their workouts. Standing Calf Raises also strengthen the knees from behind. Doing the Donkey variation, you'll feel an intense stretch from the knee to the ankle. Seated Calf Raises work a different lower leg muscle essential to pump blood back up from your feet. - Standing (2:20.5) - Donkey (2:26.6) - Seated (2:33.3) Include these 8 types of motions in your routine as an insurance policy against serious mobility problems down the line. Keeping your legs strong ensures a stable posture and quality movements, two crucial factors for a high quality of life.

I'm excited to announce Universal, and our $9M round led by a16z crypto. Universal fundamentally improves how assets move and trade onchain. You can now trade spot assets like SUI, DOGE, and XRP directly on your preferred chain without bridges or centralized exchanges. The problem is simple: crypto is fragmented. So many chains, so many assets. If you're trading on Base but want exposure to something like SOL, DOGE, or XRP, you have to bridge or find your way back to a CEX. This creates unnecessary friction for users and severely limits which assets developers can use. Universal solves this with uAssets - wrapped tokens that are backed 1:1 by verifiable reserves held in Coinbase Prime. Each uAsset can be natively minted and redeemed on-demand across any supported chain. Since going live, uAssets have already seen over $850M in trading volume. Traders: this means you can finally trade 80+ new assets without leaving your preferred chain. No bridges, no CEXs, no fragmented liquidity. Plus, you can put your uAssets to work in DeFi. Provide liquidity on Aerodrome, lend on Morpho Labs, and much more. Builders: You can now integrate those 80+ assets that were previously unavailable on your chain in a few lines of code through our Universal Relayer API. We’re actively working on dozens of new integrations. Reach out. As of today, we support Base, Polygon, and Arbitrum, with Solana, World, Monad and many more coming soon. Brian Armstrong explains how he built Coinbase on nights and weekends while working at Airbnb Brian first advises those who are currently employed to not build your project on company hours or on your company laptop: “If you build it on company time or on the company hardware, the company probably owns the IP.” Then he describes his schedule for working on Coinbase while still working full-time at Airbnb. “I would often work [at Airbnb] until 7pm. I’d come home, eat dinner, and then I would work from 8pm to midnight. I would do that maybe 3-4 days a week on weekdays. And then on the weekend I’d work Sunday afternoon for 7-8 hours.” Brian did this consistently for about a year and a half until Coinbase was far enough along for him to get seed funding from Y Combinator. “It sucked. I mean I was tired after the full day of work [at Airbnb]. But this is where determination comes in… At that moment in time, I was in my late 20s, and I was like, ‘I really want to try to build something important in the world.’” When asked how he maintained friendships during this time, Brian replies: “I was pretty intense about it. I would say I sacrificed friendships for it. It’s not like I was just never responding to people, but I’ve seen this happen to various people. They get to a certain point in their life. Sometimes they turn a certain age where they thought they would have more done by then or maybe someone in their family passes away and they’re like, Oh my god, time is finite. It’s precious. And something happens where they’re like, ‘I’m going to get this done, no matter the cost.’” Brian tells those out there who might be in a similar situation: “Go hard at it. Finish your book. Launch your thing. Just start doing stuff - and even if you don’t know what to do, just do anything, because action will produce information and it’ll help you get to the right thing.” Video source: Steven Bartlett (2022)

Best ⚾ Pitcher Mobility Drill A common problem for baseball pitchers is the gradual tightness and loss of ROM in the shoulder over the course of the game and season. The goal is to restore mobility BEFORE your athlete picks up a ball and then maintain it. Try the “2-Out Drill” to warm up your athlete before pitching and to maintain mobility between innings throughout a game. 👇 Here it is: 1️⃣ Static Stretches - you want to start with these and hold each pose for only about 3 seconds. Exercises like the cross-body stretch and wrist flexion. 2️⃣ Rotator Cuff Activation Drills - these will really fire up the rotator cuff and warm it up. Perform 5 circles forward and 5 circles back in both large circles and small circles. 3️⃣ Movement Prep - here you really want to get dynamic, with cross-body hugs, swims, and field goals, about 5 each. 4️⃣ Trunk Rotation - Lastly, we’re going to work on trunk rotation drills This entire drill might take 1-2 minutes but has been shown scientifically to improve ROM and performance over the course of a game. It’s designed to be quick enough to do for pitchers in the dugout when there are two outs and they are getting ready to head back out. Want to work with professional baseball players? 🚨 Massive EPF Change from July 1st! More salary in hand? 🤔💸 Your take-home salary is changing! 🚨 The EPFO has officially overhauled its rules, impacting every salaried employee in India. Here is exactly what happens to your money: 1️⃣ The ₹1,800 Cap: Mandatory EPF deduction is now strictly capped at 12% of a ₹15,000 basic ceiling—meaning just ₹1,800/month. Anything above this is now completely VOLUNTARY. 2️⃣ More Cash in Hand: If your basic salary is high, your mandatory PF deduction drops significantly. You instantly get more disposable income every month! 3️⃣ 13 Rules Merged into 3: Withdrawing your money is now incredibly simple. The EPFO collapsed complex categories into 3 straightforward windows: Essential Needs, Housing, and Financial Distress. 4️⃣ The 12-Month Rule: No more waiting 5–7 years for milestone advances. A flat 12-month service rule now applies. 5️⃣ 25% Safety Lock: To protect your retirement, 25% of your total balance is permanently "ring-fenced" and cannot be touched for advances. 👇 Big Question: What are you going to do with your extra monthly take-home cash? Keep putting it into Voluntary PF (VPF) for safe returns, or route it into Mutual Funds/SIPs? Becoming a multimillionaire at any age is easy. Here are the literal steps: 1) Move to Vietnam. Rent a mansion in a rural province for a $346 a month. 2) Find an online, W2 job to cover your rock-bottom costs of living, while living in absolute luxury, and being legally exempt from taxes on your income. 3) You are allowed to do 4 things: a. Work on your business. b. Read. c. Work out. d. Start a harem 4) Do nothing else till you're making $50,000 a month. 5) Rotate with a new country of your choice every 3 months to void all territorial tax The end. Do this and you'll: a. Have endless time to work on your craft. b. Enjoy it, because your brain will have nothing else to latch onto. This is the most surefire, near-guaranteed way to become successful. Everyone is doing it. Most people turn 20, move to Kansas to live in a run-down, over-priced shoe box. They get $100k in debt for a liberal arts degree, only to graduate with no knowledge of how to optimize US tax law. Address the root causes. Leverage an advantaged tax structure. Live overseas as the sole pathway to reduce expenses to under $1,000 a month, while profiting, tax-free, from a W2 job. Even with just a $50,000 a year salary with $1,000 expenses per month, you save $38,000 a year to investment into your business. Here's one half of the mansion I rented out for exactly $346 per month in rural Vietnam at age 23. It had a wrap-around garden, a literal cave with trees and dead bear skins fermenting in alcohol, three stories, three separate tea rooms, and a terrace balcony. And this is ONE side of the total property for less than $400 a month! You can do this in most any developing nation beyond the USA. I most recommend Vietnam to start, Georgia to bank, and the home nation of whatever woman you eventually marry to invest long-term, America or otherwise.

🍰2 INGREDIENT VIRAL CHEESCAKE Will it be good? You can get 4-6 servings out of this easily. 4 huge servings would be 288 calories, 21.5g protein. 6 servings would be 193 cals, 14g protein per serving. I gotta say, I was skeptical about this one. I dont think it will work with any cracker, so I would recommend using either the biscoff crackers or graham crackers. But use any cracker you like. And while Ive seen people make it with plain yogurt, I do think you either need to use your favorite flavored protein, or if you are trying to keep it lowcarb, mix in some powdered sweetener and a little vanilla extract to make it work like me. Overall, very good! If you use a thick greek yogurt, you can get a ton of protein, or you can use skyr or siggis like I did, and have an easy snack with 20g protein a serving! 1.Grab your favorite thick yogurt. I used 24oz of skyr yogurt. I mixed in 2 tbsp powder monk fruit, a splash of vanilla extract, and 1/4 cup coffee. Make sure you mix this really well, taste and adjust as you wish. If you want to keep this as simple as possible, grab a thick vanilla greek yogurt. Dont use plain, unless you want to be disappointed :) 2.Remove about 4 tablespoons of the yogurt because you’re going to be adding some crackers in and its going to overflow. You want to be able to be able to put the lid on. 3.Add in as many crackers as you want. You can use a lower carb cracker here, or whatever savory cracker you prefer. This is going to work best with biscoff crackers for the best possible “cheesecake” type texture, but you can also try it with a lower sugar cracker, or even graham crackers. 4.Put the lid on, and pop it in the fridge for at least 12 hours or overnight. 5.Remove, and enjoy. You can top this with some cacao powder or top with crushed crackers or whatever you like! If you make it, be sure to let me know what you think on SHREDHAPPENS. And if you want more healthy recipes and high protein recipes, follow along. ENJOY! . . . . . . #highprotein #healthyrecipes #goodmoodfood #healthyfoodshare #whatsonmyplate
