He needs more fights, not another fight. He's nowhere near Bivols level. And everyone knows it. I miss the days when new boxers worked their way up, got the experience and THEN took on one of the champs. These days it's get it all done as soon as. It's bs and has caused loses.

I think yarde fight would be a good money spinner in Birmingham or o2 ,with few decent undercard fights ,yarde is past his best but I think after seeing that last fight he will fancy it ,if he hits whitaker on the chin cleanly he won't get up .

Throw him in with Benavidez if he “needs one more fight” before Bivol. They are both potential contenders. None of the cans you keep throwing at him will ever prepare him for top level competition.

These promoters never learn a damn thing. Did Hearn not see what happened when Itauma was rushed? Ben does not just need another fight. He needs the right fights, better conditioning, and time to fix the flaws we just saw. Stop rushing talent before they are ready.

Strictly speaking, per the IBF's own rules, winning a final eliminator establishes that fighter as the mandatory challenger, meaning the governing body is supposed to order the champion to defend against them next.
