I feel like one area that deserves a lot of praise in the kit as well is usually in games with 'tanks that create walls' they either are too oppressive to fight (League had this issue) or they are too gimmicky to work, OW found the perfect balance with Hazard where there is->

I think they just tried to play his visual design too safe, and it ended up not really appealing to anyone, which made him easy to hate despite his playstyle and moves being pretty cool.

I hate to argue preference, because that’s definitely what this is. But to me, Hazard was a flop. I think his kit is very clearly overwatch 1 abilities with an OW 2 twist. Not to mention the complete flop that was his back story. He should have been an a mutant monstrosity.
