Okay. I agree. Please share the plan. 1. What is the plan to impart world-class quality FREE public education to 100% of the Indians. To the poorest of the poor. 2. What is the plan to provide top quality vocational training after grade 12 to those (likely 90%) who are weak academically. 3. What is the plan to provide free healthcare to every Indian citizen. Only these three can give a level playing field to every Indian, and enable us to make a quantum jump. Then comes industrialization, heavy use of tools and automation in every field starting from agriculture to heavy industry. How are you going to tax the rich. Because you need fund for all these. If you allow people to become billionaires, multi-millionaires - that means the government is becoming poorer - that means there will be less money to spend on the top three items - and then India can never make quantum jump relying on only top 1%.

Can we quantum jump our way into making basic roads drivable and air breathable ? In exchange to the extortionate taxes I pay, I would really like to, if possible, not be poisoned to death by the air I breathe. Hope I’m not being too unreasonable.

Why new tax regime is being tried to make it attractive from last 5 years. Year after year new tax regime is tried to make at least as attractive as old regime. In the process, tax payers are looted for 11 years.

Respectfully disagree. In India, "big bang reforms" often fail because they fail to address the underlying Babucracy problem. We need an incremental & committed effort to eliminate the amount of discretions available to Sarkari Babus. When we have regulations in place which hand over ridiculous amounts of discretionary powers to the bureaucracy, we create a system where corruption becomes an inevitable practice from the point of view of businesses & entrepreneurs. We need to incrementally eliminate the ridiculous compliances which hand over a veto to Babus, leaving the value creators at the mercy of an invisible red tape. We need more things like CPGRAMS, where citizens can expect speedy resolution of complaints. Most of the departmental helplines & grievance portals fail to work even half as well as CPGRAMS. Mainly because there's no commitment from the departments itself to eliminate the Babucracy.

Let us see some real reforms then. No pussyfooting any more. Completely revamp the judiciary and the bureaucracy, making them answerable to the constitution, laws, and people, and not to the career and wealth of their own members, by encouraging corruption. Every segment of society at every level is now heavily steeped in corruption. Ordinary people are displaying an ever-increasing level of indiscipline and lawlessness. Please do something to turn ordinary people into real patriots by making them responsible for and respectful of their fellow citizens and the common public facilities.

@AmitShah @nsitharaman The per capita income of the country is only around ₹2 lakh per annum. Despite this, the total tax in our country including both direct and indirect taxes is more than 50%. In such a situation, how will the income of the common man increase? Abolish income tax. Until the per capita income of our country exceeds 10 lakh rupees per annum, the government does not have the right to levy direct tax.
