Real Housewives is now more of an editorial and creative production than it is “reality.” And that’s totally fine, but it also removed the charm and fun a lot of us found in it. The only element that really remains is the interpersonal battles and relationships, which I still believe are organic and candid. It’s just that now they MUST take place either on social media or, if in person, only by Bravos production/schedule/events. Like the fights and conversations are still the women’s own, but nowadays they can only happen in front of an audience.

I mean this has been standard since the mid 00’s. You have to get the shots and make sure audio is cacthing things correctly.

This is the same to me as someone taking 100 selfies/takes of a group pic and then only the one they like best is posted online. It’s still them and they were still there and the drama still happened so for me this doesn’t really take away anything from the show at all.

It’s all too obvious now this is how housewives is filmed now and I can’t watch them anymore for this reason. It’s all too produced by the producers and the ladies. There is nothing natural or organic anymore, makes me so sad.
