This story is personal for me. I worked together with Sudanese refugees, which live and work in Otef. One of them who moved to Rahat, but still works in Ein Habesor was one of the first, who phoned me in 7/10, and asked if I need help. He told me a lot about the Sudan civil war.

Hamas leadership has been living lavishly in Qatar while the people that they claim to represent in Gaza are suffering. They’ve been directing a war from the comfort of their five-star hotels for almost two years, refusing to release the 48 hostages that are still being held in Gaza. Today, Israeli officials announced that they took a targeted action against these Hamas leaders who have been terrorizing the region for years. This war in Gaza is brutal. It has to end. Palestinians are suffering, Israelis are suffering. The entire region is suffering. The people of Gaza, the Arab League, the US and Israel are all saying the same thing. Hamas must be removed from power. Inside Gaza, people are risking their lives to protest Hamas, and they’re being silenced, beaten, even killed on the streets. They know that Hamas is the reason Gaza is in ruin. They know that Hamas is the one who started the war, and Hamas is the reason that it hasn’t ended yet. And this has been Hamas’s plan all along, force Israel into a war it never wanted to fight, but has to win. Hamas spent years preparing the October 7th attack. They knew exactly what an urban war in a densely populated area would look like. They all went into hiding and left their people out to suffer. And these devastating consequences for the people of Gaza? That was a part of their strategy, to delegitimize Israel’s standing in the eyes of the world. They knew what they were doing, and Israel could not and still cannot allow these jihadists to live on its borders. No other nation would allow that. Al Burhan’s visit today to El Obeid was not pre-announced yet tens of thousands of residents still managed to fill the streets to greet him. This however, shouldn’t in anyway be mistaken for a cult of personality for most of these people this isn’t about showing support to Burhan as an individual this is about showing their support to the Sudanese Army Institution and by extension to the Sudanese Republic which it is constitutionally bound to. And further to show their outright rejection of the UAE’s proxy RSF militia. The chant of the crowds in El Obeid is the same one you will repeatedly hear in any other large gathering in Sudan during this war which is “One Army One People”. The Sudanese people are not neutral they overwhelmingly want to see the Army complete the dismantling of this Genocidal RSF militia. Any international initiatives on Sudan should be listening to what the bulk of the Sudanese population are saying and not seek to impose a settlement on them.

The world is silent about the situation in Sudan 🇸🇩 and also in Tigray, Ethiopia 🇪🇹 where thousands have been killed, even the African Union who are now seen as a puppet for the West are giving deaf ears to the situation. The UAE’s humanitarian and relief efforts around the world are valued in the billions, especially in Sudan. Here in Boston and in several other U.S. states, I’ve met many Sudanese elites and intellectuals who express joy simply upon knowing that I am Emirati. I have participated in several events and celebrations with Sudanese brothers, and the only reason was because I am from the UAE. When I underwent several surgeries, many Sudanese visited me in the hospital, and I would hear them praise the development of the UAE and its leaders, especially Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan—may God protect him. They also expressed their love for the UAE’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan—may God have mercy on him—and their admiration for Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is well known. Unfortunately, however, the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan spreads lies and distorts the UAE’s humanitarian efforts in Sudan, even though the UAE spends billions of dollars to support the Sudanese people. The political fanaticism of the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan drives them to lie and tarnish the UAE’s image. It is known, even globally, that the conflict over power in Sudan is between the Sudanese themselves: one side affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, and the other independent—but in the end, both are Sudanese fighting for rule and authority. What has happened—these horrific crimes committed among Sudanese themselves—is truly heartbreaking and deeply saddening. But we must speak the truth: this tragedy occurred between Sudanese parties. My speech at the UN Human Rights Council about their recent report on Israel on behalf of the UN Watch : I ask the UN, the Arab League, and everyone who had waving the Palestinian flag since October 7: Where is the flag of Yemen? In my country, half a million people have died in the last 10 years. The biggest famine and humanitarian crisis in modern history. Why does no one care when half a million Yemenis die? What about Sudan? In less than two years, more than 150,000 people have been killed. Where is the Sudanese flag? What about Syria? Half a million people were killed. Where is the Syrian flag? High Commissioner, why is it that when Arabs kill millions of Arabs, no one bats an eye? Where is the outrage? Where are the protests? High Commissioner, may I ask why your report mentions Israel 188 times — yet fails to mention the Islamic Republic in Iran even once? How can you speak about the conflict while ignoring the party who armed, trained, and funded the terror proxies — Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis — who have been bombing Israel thousands of times? Why don’t you mention that the Houthis in Yemen have spent millions of dollars firing missiles at Israel, instead of feeding my starving people? This is for all the people in the arena ( your life, your career, your family ) who are doing it for them .. not for the validation of the crowd One of the great issues in our society right now is that people live their lives for outside validation, for the clicks, for the likes, for the followers, for the comments. This isn't just in social media. This is happening in the analog and real world too. Too many people are keeping up with the Joneses and worried about what people think about them. They worry about what people think about how much money they have, what school they go to, or even worse, what school their kids go to, and on and on and on … I will continue to make content with the hope it breaks someone out of the hamster wheel and that’s that ❤️❤️❤️❤️
