After their dastardly attack at the residence of State Minister Smt. Shashi Panja, leaders of BJP are now openly instigating violence against Smt. Mamata Banerjee. They are calling for bombs to be hurled and for arms to be taken up against elected public representatives, believing that their intimidation and saffron gundagardi will break our resolve. They clearly do not understand who they are up against. Bengal will not bow. Bengal will not budge. Bengal will not yield. The politics of violence, hatred, fear, and terror propagated by BJP will be decisively rejected and crushed by the people of Bengal.

She strongly condemned the terror being unleashed by Police Observers and CRPF jawans. They are openly targeting our agents and party workers. Midnight raids are being conducted without any legal warrant or shred of evidence. Our workers are being picked up and detained on fabricated grounds just to stop them from performing their polling duties. Their families are being threatened and terrorised at home. BJP’s politics of “bhoy”, fear, suppression and brute force, will not work in Bengal. The more you harass us, the stronger we become. The more you try to break our workers, the more determined Bengal will be to crush your designs.

Nor will silence prevail when the legacy and sacrifices of those who fought for the nation are insulted. In a shocking display of cowardice, our MP and a representative of the Scheduled Caste community, Smt. Mitali Bag, was brutally attacked today by BJP’s goons. Her car was vandalised and the windshield smashed, leaving her with serious injuries from glass shards. Shri Abhishek Banerjee visited her at the hospital to stand in solidarity.
