No one is talking about this so I will. Why does it look like rudeus is being nerfed? He casted few spells and he's fainting. What's up with that?

People are also overlooking the part where he is standing in the water he just added electricity to. He didn’t just faint from running out of energy. He literally shocked himself with his own magic.

I believe in the LN he was in a terrified state because he didnt want to become her servant and lose his family. The enemies were pretty powerful and not monsters. Moore countered everything he did easily because he can short chant and has way more experience. Rudy was thrown off The part about possibly losing his family really messed with him. Also the battlefield was crowded so its a lot of moving parts.

I wish the anime gives us details like the LN does. The anime rushes everything it just seems so straightforward

Anime from manga does a better job but anime from Light Novels leaves out a lot of stuff because the depth of details in it.

He fainted because of the AOE damage he adjusted the power so it would incapacitate everyone. Also, don’t forget that Rudeus is broken because he fights monsters when fighting humans he has a mental block because he’s scared of killing people. Remember dude can one shot dragons

The purpose of this fight was to incapacitate the enemy and Cliff escape. He is only casting spells that force them to stay in place. Don’t worry this was his final reality check before TP4 it did changed his perspective forever and it was his first time fighting a seasoned mage

Till this point, Rudeus only powered up to get out of deadly situations, never beyond that. After Orsted, he learned Disturb Magic; after the Hydra, he researched the scales. TP4 will force him to do everything possible to win and survive because now he has too much to lose

Simply put: 1. He isn’t used to fighting humans 2. Atofe had him completely cornered 3. Destructive spells would’ve put his allies in danger

Well, the cuts made Rudeus seem more limited, but the thing is, Rudeus can't cast so many spells if so he can hit his allies. Their armor resists magic, so it gets a little more complicated, and Rudeus was basically trying to figure out which spell would be best against Moore.

So in MT there exists a force known as “Battle Aura” and it is what allows characters like Atofe, Zanoba and Orsted to tank hits that, by all conventional laws of physics, should be lethal. It’s like a sheathe of force that surrounds a person protecting their body and enhancing their strength. Rudeus doesn’t have ANY battle aura, at all. None. ZERO. He can’t create it no matter how hard he trains his body. This was said in the first season(iirc) and still holds true now. This means that he is essentially fighting naked. One hit, even from a novice, and he is DEAD so it kinda makes sense that he would panic. Especially when faced with a legendary fighter like Demon King Atofe who has only ever lost to two people in her entire thousand year long history, one of which was fucking Laplace. Add to that the fact that Rudeus now finally has a happy family waiting for him at home and it becomes incredibly understandable that he would be panicking. As for the fainting, have you ever been electrocuted? You tend to go numb and pass out when electricity fries its way through your nervous system. The fact he was able to remain mostly conscious and recover as quickly as he did is honestly impressive.

Moore was actually just him as a mage ngl. Might be Denken levels of respect for me. Even if he's inferior in speed due to shortened chanting compared to Rudeus, he was way ahead of Rudeus in decision-making, resiliency, and decisive counters.

Ever since Orsted punched a hole in him, he's been scared shitless anytime he faces a strong opponent. It doesn't help that Moore hyped up Atofe by saying you had to be Laplus tier to beat her. Moore also just finished showing how skilled he was by countering all his spells.

If anything, the anime buffed him. In the novel, couldn't control Electricity at all, so it was impossible for him to use it on anyone without shocking himself. But in the anime, he could control it until he was surrounded by puddles of water.

He fainted because he got electrocuted by his own spell, he look down to look at the water on his feet, take him a moment to brace for it. Also through out the fight he is holding back because he doesn't want to kill anyone, its mentality thing.

He is very not experienced in battling humans or human like races due to the concept of "Ending a life" is taboo to him BUT if all his allies were not there he would have just vaporized with a HUGE AOE but could not due to all his allies being in the area..

He isn't nerfed, they were many factors that contributed to that
