Mamdani just posted an official mayoral statement calling Benjamin Netanyahu a "war criminal" and demanding the federal government enforce an ICC warrant to arrest him because he has ZERO legal authority to do anything about it. Let's call this what it is: very dangerous political theater. The ICC is a sham organization that our State Department doesn't even recognize. Mamdani knows that. But he doesn't care about enforcing the law. He's pouring gasoline all over the streets of New York City and handing out matches. If one of his radical followers lights one of them when Netanyahu comes to NYC in September, he will share the blame. Because, between this and his administration's attempt to circumvent Trump and meet with Iran, it sure seems like THAT is what he wants.
