No progress on bench from last week. Still falling the fifth rep on the third set. 172.5 is my nemesis. I can feel it's close though.

I always workout alone, just me and my music. Last night I was getting my bench press in. So after the first set at 187.5lbs I almost failed the last rep. Some folks were leaving the gym, when I re-racked the bar I looked over and they gave me props for the set. I know it’s not a big weight but a stranger giving me congrats felt really good! It helped on the 2nd set but the last set did me in lol. I only got three reps in. I’m getting stronger but bench is still my weaker lift. Gotta keep on keeping on! 😤💪🏻🔥

Failed the last rep of 3x5 bench at 182lbs yesterday. So very close. Slowing down the progression on bench and adding a little extra volume in the form of close grip bench press. 2026 goal is to do this for 225lbs at least. What are your weight lifting goals for the year?

Finally hit 172.5 for 3x5 on the bench. A mental victory. I failed this weight twice already. Knew I could do it after the second set. Few things I focused on this time. - Changed grip to get bar low on palm - Fixed gaze on the ceiling - Chest up Feeling strong

UPDATE: I was only able to spend one minute 44 seconds on the swing set construction between last Sunday and Monday. Finally back at it again today but here’s the progress update from last week. Still far under average time it’s supposed to take three people to build.
