Presidents should be able to choose their employees. Just because it's become normalized to obstruct appointments doesn't mean it's a good thing. I'll bet if I searched your posts from 4, 12 and 16 years ago, I'd find that you agreed with me back then, Jeff.

Instead of confirming Trump’s nominees, the REPUBLICAN House and Senate will gavel in and gavel out every few days while they’re on August “recess.” Assuring they’re never technically in recess and Trump can’t make any recess appointments. This doesn't sound like "AMERICA FIRST."

MCCABE: It’s a 10 day vacation. Constitutionally, this should be a recess. But they’ve basically created a pro forma session, so it’s a fake recess. Reagan got 240 recess appointments. Trump got zero, even though he controlled the Senate for huge chunks of his terms.
