🐰 i worked a lot with El Guincho. I got to listen to a lot of tracks and i was really wowed by just how fresh and new this was. One of the first thoughts i had was ‘wow, you can approach a song like this?’ and i felt a lot of pressure about how to make the best use of it. so that must be why i wanted to stay close, it was a totally a different vibe, a whole new vibe. i hope to work again and have another session with the producers and songwriters that we worked with

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio: It is in my personal view that we've had probably the most productive and meaningful meeting so far in this entire process since we've been involved in it from the beginning. So I think the takeaway from it is I think this is a very, very meaningful, I would say probably best meeting and day we've had so far in this entire process going back to when we first came into office in January. Peter Thiel’s advice to his younger self: "Value substance over status.” One of the resolutions I came up with a number of years ago was to always value substance over status, substance over prestige. And if I was giving my younger self advice on what to do or how to think about one's life, I probably would still go to Stanford, might still go to law school. But I'd ask a lot more questions: why I was doing these things? Too much of it was driven by prestige and status, and not quite enough about really the substance of trying to learn things. I sort of think of it as this sort of crazy rolling quarter life crisis, and a sort of culmination in this big New York law firm where from the outside everybody wanted to get in, from the inside everybody wanted to get out. I lasted seven months and three days. And when I left, one of the people down the hall said, it's so reassuring to see you leave, Peter. I had no idea it was possible to escape from Alcatraz. And all you had to do was go through the front door. But people's identities get so wrapped up in the things they compete for that it was inconceivable for people to actually do that. And then the question was, how had I ended up there? Why had I not thought about that more? And I think it was that I had taken too many of these shortcuts of valuing what was prestigious, what was conventional, over what I really wanted to do. So I think always substance over status.

“So there was work that had been done in the 90s surrounding what are called combustion gas guns, which is if you combust hydrogen and oxygen instead of gunpowder, basically the speed of sound in the gases is faster. We both have a favorite song, and that song is ‘DIORAMA’. I would choose ‘DIORAMA’ to introduce someone to who Yves is because it shows a lot of range. 🦊 the thing i said the most while preparing for this album was “i’m no labels” “i have no labels” and i realized that there’s no need for me to be humble even when i’m making music, i just need to enjoy and express myself 🦊 i think i’ve always been a humble person so i tried to get rid of that (while making the album) and i feel like i was lacking in a lot more ways than i thought 🦊 working with a lot of producers and different people made me think “there are lot of things i’m lacking in, huh?” and it was an opportunity where i could really experience and learn a lot of things

After enlisting, I entered a world where bad choices carried immediate consequences. In "Troubled," I ask this question: Did the military transform me in some dramatic way, or did it simply remove the possibility of misbehavior? Maybe it was not so much that the military did something for me as that it prevented me from doing certain things. You live on a military base, surrounded by people paying attention to what you do. It is difficult to make a serious mistake or a self-defeating choice. So much is on the line whether your on or off duty. Fail a drug test and you can be court-martialed and sent to military prison. Refuse to show up for work and you may face the same outcome. In the civilian world, I began to notice what was happening to some of the friends I had graduated from high school with. They stayed in our home town. Some drifted through community college and wasted a lot of time. They had no structure, no oversight and no one keeping track of them. We had all been raised in roughly the same circumstances. But once they had no parental supervision and no external structure, they were free to indulge their most hedonistic impulses. They drove motorcycles while drunk, got into bar fights, slept with a lot of different girls and dealt with unplanned pregnancies. That was when our paths began to diverge. I have no doubt that, had I stayed in that town, I would have made many of the same choices.

That Ospreay and Swerve segment was awesome. The way that they called back to some of the inconsistencies with All In and Forbidden Door to make more sense of them was great. Both men seemed extremely locked in and I think that they positioned the inevitable Ospreay win really well. They addressed a lot of the criticisms with the Ospreay/Death Riders story, and I think that this was Swerve’s best promo in forever.
