capybaras deep in thought in a hot spring in japan listening to patsy cline

They’re completely unbothered. Even Alligators don’t mind them..

Capybaras are so chill. They don’t care one bit about anything 😂

Capybaras jumping into a lake in Brazil..

Hearing the sound of nature up close.

Such a sweet creature, seems kind of mean to poke it like that.

Why Do Animals Like Capybaras So Much?! The photo evidence of capybara friendliness was more than convincing. Every animal seems to like hanging out with this friendly creature that looks like a rat-pig hybrid. Even crocodiles! The answer? It probably lies in some capybara facts. First of all these animals are very social and often live in groups of 10-20 individuals. This lovable creature is the largest rodent in the world, growing to a size of up to 134cm and weighing up to 66kg. Native to South America, capybara's are semi-aquatic mammals that prefer to live near bodies of water; in fact, they are excellent swimmers, can avoid predators by staying submerged for up to 5 minutes, and mate only in water. Moreover, the most important fact is that we'd sure love to have a capybara pet! So, the capybara shares habitats with many many other species. They all sort of get along with the capybara. One of the reasons is because of how relaxed the capybara is. They really don't care what you do around or on them as long as it doesn't hurt them. That's why you'll see monkeys, birds, small mammals and even large predators like crocodiles hanging around them. But that's not the only reason animals hang around capybaras. And yes, they are technically social animals. So why would other animals go near a capybara? Well, some animals actually benefit from the capybara. Birds, for example, stand on them and pick the bugs and debris from the capybara’s fur. A symbiotic relationship, the capybara is getting clean and the bird is getting a free meal. Capybaras tend to not really care what goes on around them and there is some debate on whether they make good pets or not. What do you think? Are there any other animals that surpass the level of capybara-friendly?
