the famous gas station Buccee’s, but I did stop at one on vacation and noticed something very interesting. Buccees is almost 90% all in-house (generic) soda offerings, probably at a significant cost savings. In fact, they may only have 1 or 2 brand name flavors per fountain machine. I’ve never heard of anyone speaking negative to this. They have mastered this beverage strategy which sounds easy but it’s not. Coca-Cola syrup prices have skyrocketed in cost and they developed a way around it. I can only applaud this. Now - I wonder how many other concepts will start to develop their own flavors. While no one will out do a Diet Coke or regular Coke, the secondary flavors may be fair game 🤷‍♂️ Would use choose any of these flavors over a Coke offering? •Buc-ee's Diet Cola. •Buc-ee's Vanilla Cola. •Buc-ee's Root Beer. •Buc-ee's Sarsaparilla Soda. •Buc-ee's Vanilla Cream Soda. •Buc-ee's Blue Cream Soda. •Buc-ee's Orange Dream Soda Of course you can’t forget to try their brisket and pull pork sandwiches!

Buc-ee’s just sued a tiny corner store in Beavercreek, Ohio over a cartoon beaver and its name. Beaver’s Mini Mart has been sitting in that neighborhood for over two decades. Buc-ee’s opened its first Ohio store this spring. A multi-billion-dollar Texas chain that builds 74,000 sq ft cathedrals to gas and beef jerky is now trying to crush a mom-and-pop carryout because the city is literally named Beavercreek and the store used… a beaver. This isn’t trademark protection. This is corporate bullying dressed up as brand defense. They’re burning every ounce of goodwill they spent years manufacturing with clean bathrooms and branded merch. People who once drove hours for the “Buc-ee’s experience” are now watching a giant pick on the local corner store that was there first. You don’t get to roll into some place, plant your flag, then demand the locals stop using the animal their town is named after. I actually liked the business model and things I have heard about Buc-we’d until I saw this. Don’t try to be the beaver that thinks it owns every other beaver. This is peak corporate insecurity. Across the country, the evidence is visible: - Southwest & South-South: - Shagamu–Benin Expressway - Ore–Akure Road - Akure–Ado Road - Benin–Sapele–Warri route - Benin–Asaba Road Ibadan - Akure road - Southeast & South-South: - Port Harcourt–Enugu Road - Benue–Enugu Road - East–West Road (Port Harcourt–Warri section, ~75% complete) - Enugu–Onitsha Expressway (~60% complete) - Benin–Auchi–Okene Road (~55% complete) - Newly built Eke Obinagu Flyover, Enugu Ebony - Calabar - Abuja road.
