And now I’m here at this lovely rooftop bar in central London. It’s a gorgeous, hot, sunny day, with a balcony that overlooks all of the London landmarks, so have a guess why nobody is sat outside? That’s right; you’re not allowed drinks outside anymore. They had an incident on Saturday and since then have banned drinks outside. This is everything that’s wrong with this country. A few people do something stupid and instead of dealing with them, everyone has their fun stopped. Bloody depressing.

Small tip: when an interaction animates 2 or more properties (like width and translate Y for this search bar), consider offsetting the timing and curves for each to get a more natural feel. Here, width starts narrowing first, and translate Y follows about 140 ms later. Which also helps the search bar move up without overlapping with the buttons.

Stop reversing in 2026. I still see so many lower-ranked players reverse or fully brake when they feel awkward, which only puts them in worse positions. If you put yourself out of position, the best option is usually to drive through the play and rotate around. Rotating through gives you better vision of the field, helps you keep your momentum, and leaves you in a much better position.
