Absolutely shocking, saw somewhere they’re selling beef& chicken mince with feckin pea protein 🤮😳 what on earth is that….beef & chicken shouldn’t be together

In Italy, they make Ragu sauce with a mixture of beef and pork, I’ve noticed that some supermarkets have started selling beef and pork mince. Beef and chicken mince? God knows, but there will be a reason they are doing it and it won’t be for us. All I know is this is the second time I’ve got back to the UK, Tuesday has been eating supermarket beef, pork, chicken in France, Italy and Spain, within two weeks of getting back to the UK, she has a phantom pregnancy. She’s not even due in season, she had a season in July, Don’t eat supermarket chicken.

@oldladybrain Just bought 2kg of short rib for a slow cook recipe, £25 the lot and cut into 1/3s. Will feed an army or some for the freezer. What would we do without our local butcher and know where it all comes from. 😥

Started using my local butcher for same reason meat in supermarkets has went down hill and that vacuum packed mince makes me ill everytime. costs a bit more but fills you better and quality is 1000x

I’m the same, I don’t buy my meat from the supermarkets. I use the local butcher.

In simple terms. Boycott these supermarkets and start paying your local butchers.!

Buy from your butcher! My butcher only uses local meat from local farms that are slaughtered at the local small slaughterhouse. 3 small local businesses supported.

That’s what we all should be doing. Butchers are closing down at a massive rate. We need to start using them again, along with the green grocer. I don’t buy meat or veg from a supermarket.

Cracking. I stopped having mince yonks ago, as it had got disgusting. I'll try to find a local butcher and have a chat with him. Crazy how much crap goes in our food, now.

Support you're local butcher or they won'tbe there. Also know that the animal died as humanely as possible.

SM is a preservative and is added to many foods. As a chef he should know this.

Of course he knows what it is. It’s normally added to bacon and sausage on advice from the food agencies. Not minced beef.

It’s also added to dried fruit, wine and so on. Hardly a surprise it’s also being added to other meat products.

Support your local butcher. Worth their weight in gold

I bought some last week; basically nothing comes off it while cooking, burned to the pan and didn’t break up at all! Absolutely horrible.

Problem is that my local butchers are twice as expensive as supermarkets. It's becoming very close for people to choose heating or eating so yes people will buy the cheaper of the two and deal with it
