Piloted by company's Chairman K.W. Chang, Starlux Airlines received Taiwan's first Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, bearing registration number B-58551, at Taoyuan International Airport on Tuesday (Jan. 6) at 10 a.m., marking a milestone for the carrier. The carrier aims to expand its fleet further in 2026 with the addition of five more A350-1000 aircraft. Starlux Airlines currently operates a fleet of 30 aircraft and has placed orders for 10 Airbus A350F freighters, aiming strategic presence in the the cargo market. #aircraft #aviation

Announced at #PAS25: the Armée de l'Air et de l'Espace has declared the Full Operational Capability of its #A400M fleet. An essential milestone that goes beyond capabilities, it concerns the full fleet envelope of the A400M operative. A Full Operational Capability is based on aircraft, but also is about crews, maintenance, training and infrastructure, including the last certification reached with the aircraft: the ability to drop a special-forces boat for the French Navy Commandos, which was achieved last February. With 24 aircraft and more than 10 years in operation, the French A400M fleet has achieved a definitive level of maturity.

There has been a lot of talk about the NOAA Lockheed WP-3D Orion aircraft in Shannon this week. The aircraft, N42RF aka “Kermit” is in Shannon for the next while as they monitor Storm Éowyn which hits Ireland on Friday morning! Q: What do scientists onboard do?🤔 Scientists aboard the aircraft deploy GPS dropwindsondes as NOAA pilot and navigate the P-3 through the hurricane/storm. These instruments continuously transmit measurements of pressure, humidity, temperature, and wind direction and speed as they fall toward the sea, providing a detailed look at the structure of the storm and its intensity. The P-3s' tail Doppler radar and lower fuselage radar systems, meanwhile, scan the storm vertically and horizontally, giving scientists and forecasters a real-time look at the storm. The P-3s can also deploy probes called bathythermographs that measure the temperature of the sea. Thus, the Pentagon intends to fill the gap in the complete absence of amphibious aircraft for carrying out logistical or search and rescue operations in the conditions of the Indo-Pacific region, including during possible military operations. It is particularly important to note China's efforts in this direction, which just half a year ago launched the serial production of the largest amphibious aircraft, the AG600. Currently, the US does not have a single amphibious aircraft in service. Previous such aircraft, such as the HU16 Albatross, were used during the Korean and Vietnam wars, but were decommissioned in the 1980s. Aer Lingus takes delivery of its first Airbus A321XLR from Hamburg. EI-XLR arrived in Dublin at 1410 local time. The airline is the second operator of the aircraft type worldwide and is expected to receive a second aircraft tomorrow. Staff Flight Test Engineer Simon Hedderman takes us inside the Archer telemetry trailer, the data center behind our flight test operations. While the pilot operates the aircraft, our team monitors from the telemetry trailer, gathering holistic aircraft data like engine temperatures, airspeed, and battery levels. Each part of the aircraft is represented, with members from the battery, engine, propellor, flight control systems, guidance navigation & controls, and flight test instrumentation teams gathering data and monitoring real-time performance during flight. This test data helps to validate aircraft performance across mission profiles, supporting safe flights and preparing us for public operations.
