Shadow was immune to mind manipulation 11 years before this fight. Death battle ignored that because it was made out of spite for the Sonic series back when it was popular to hate on it. And canonically Shadow already lost his memories but could still fight and use his powers.

Actually, no In both Shadow the Hedgehog and Shadow Generations, he has demonstrated that he can withstand Black Doom's control (both physical and mental) He even managed to overcome the effects of Chaos Control used against him and finish Black Doom off

Even if Mewtwo does factory reset Shadow's mind, the Chaos Emeralds will backup his memories. I would be surprised if shadow does 2 uno reverse. 1. Sayonnora after Mewtwo said it. 2. Finish off the legendary with his own weapon before vaporizing him that recovery can't heal.

Sonic scalers go crazy with glaze, but this was debunkable even back then as Shadow has been shown perfectly capable of fighting even WITH amnesia in Heroes (his literal second appearance) and since then he's only gotten more resistances to having his head tampered with.

I don’t really have a horse in this race, but that episode is one of the worst in Death Battle history, even ignoring the verdict.

The reason they’re redoing the fight is because the animator admitted he phoned it in in an attempt to get fired. The result doesn’t matter; it’s about giving it the respect it deserves and should have had the first time.

He does have a counter to mind manipulation tho black doom is trying to control him the entire time in shadow generations

The chaos emeralds grant him immunity to brain washing and mind erasure, so he’s basically good. Shadow quite literally is resistance to majority of his moves 😭

@FictionRumble Shadow has resisted mind control, not just from black doom, but also from the Ifrit in Sonic Rivals 2. Mewtwo’s gonna have a hard time taking over shadow’s mind. On the flip side, he has no defense against chaos control allowing shadow more than enough time to kill Mewtwo.

For one, going super should make him invulnerable to stuff like that to begin with. But even if it doesn't, he is still entirely capable of fighting with amnesia and likely would.
