The Boogeyman, portrayed by Martin Wright, is one of WWE's most memorable and bizarre characters. He made his WWE debut in 2005, quickly gaining attention for his creepy persona and wild antics, which included eating live worms during matches and scaring opponents backstage. Originally, Wright came to WWE's attention through the Tough Enough reality show, where he lied about his age to meet the show's eligibility requirements. Though he was disqualified when his real age was discovered, his persistence and unique character led WWE to offer him a developmental contract anyway. The Boogeyman's most famous moment came at WrestleMania 22, where he defeated King Booker and Queen Sharmell in a handicap match. Known for his unsettling presence, he would often leave his opponents grossed out by shoving worms into their mouths. Even after his WWE departure in 2009, the Boogeyman has made sporadic appearances, continuing to be a fan-favorite character due to his spooky, over-the-top persona
