Let’s start with the character. I created this hipster cyclist in Midjourney, I like the aesthetic, and more importantly, the background contrasts perfectly with the subject. That’ll come in handy later. Prompt is in the ALT of the image.

Also made a bush, we’ll use it to create a sense of movement. I used the cyclist as reference, again on Midjourney.

Time to make the backgrounds. For parallax to work, they need to tile seamlessly. Just add --tile to your prompt, almost no one uses this trick. Delete the background in the mountain landscape. Prompts are in the image ALTs.

We’ve got almost everything ready to edit. The only thing left is a couple of videos. I animated both directly in Midjourney automatically. Remember, you can extend the video up to 30 seconds!

Now we drop everything into DaVinci Resolve and start building the backgrounds. They’re in 3:1 aspect ratio, wider than our video, which is perfect for smooth movement using position keyframes. Screenshots have the details.

From here, it’s just about repeating the process and picking the right speed. Here’s how it’s looking so far. We’re almost done!

Now let’s remove the backgrounds. Select the clip on the timeline, the cyclist, for example, and click on Fusion (the magic wand icon). Set tracking to “Better” mode, highlight the areas you want to keep, and mask out what you want gone. Then, apply the tracking.

From here on, it all depends on how deep you wanna go with the editing! I’m a total beginner with DaVinci myself, but if you’ve got questions and I can help, I’m all in. That’s a wrap!

This is S-tier quality. It reminds me of the animations they do on "Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell" Youtube channel.

thank you!
