Nobody understood this assignment better than Adventure Time tbh #adventuretime

Now is look like this

I remember perfectly when it premiered, it seemed like just another special, and then out of nowhere, BAM! A character backstory that, as a child, left me with a strange feeling😿

This was such a turning point for the series, oh my god.

They definitely retconned the part where Betty "looked at him with contempt", because she ran off to 1000 years in the future while Simon was still wearing the crown

I was so shocked and sad to hear that and even more upset when frost and fire happened like poor Simon 😭

"Traumabomb" bitch the guys is right behind you, a little respect

Who were the writers on this ep man, they did topnotch stuff

History was made as it was the starting line about the Dark Truth in the world of Ooo of Adventure Time I still remember how flabbergasted I was when I first saw this

The fact that they made this on a "filler" episode 😭

This is inherently where the vibe shift towards the ice king happened and they start treating him like Simon

Crazy to imagine that the show's Christmas special would give us this bombshell of a plot reveal.

Jake being like “dramaaaaa” after the most emotional downward spiral ever is crazy tho

This legit rewired my brain as a child The first time I saw it. Like this was insane 😭

The older you get the more you realize that all the ice king really wanted was HIS princess back but his mind was so lost in the cold that he couldn’t remember who his princess even was, yet his heart knew he had one.
