Over 6000 career plate appearances and not once were his batting gloves ever tight enough!

Crazy that you cant post over a minute of great nomar highlights and none of them are even of him fielding or baserunning, which were his two biggest strengths lol the man had the highest peak of any shortstop i've ever seen. I'm so sad he wasnt on the 2004 squad.

“What was it like when hitting .300 was actually valued?”

One of my favorites, I was crushed when they traded him. WS made up for it, but I still wish he could have been there for it. That guy rocked.

I loved watching him, but can you imagine him trying to get through that routine with the pitch clock? He'd have to take every other pitch. lol

He sure did. He is my favorite-ever Red Sox player.

Lifelong Sox fan here. Disagree. Was a big fan until I saw his puss face on the bench (self imposed because of contract negotiations) at Yankee Stadium as Jeter went face first into the stands to catch a foul ball. I had a perfect view of the play and the visitor's dugout from the first base side.

I’m a BoSox fan but I loved when Jeter imitated Nomar in the All-Star game

I would take Nomar over Trevor today... Let's bring him out of retirement

Until he sucked, became a primadonna all about his contract and got cut by the team which allowed them to win their first world series in 86 years. Should have never gotten the world series ring .Never will be a Hall of famer. You can say he helped the '04 team in that way though

@maggieerogers That SS class in the 90s is goated. Nomar, Jeter, A-Rod, sprinkle the defensive wizardry of Rey Ordonez, Edgar Renteria. What a time

@gabbymaljanian Not really, Because of his habit of unbuttoning and buttoning his batting gloves while I’m the batters box started an epidemic of wanna be (delay in pace)‘ in youth baseball. Warning issued, then automatic strike called for delays.😎😎

One of my favorite Red Sox of all time. I hated the way it ended in Boston.

Baseball in the late 90's/early 2000's was truly epic. So was the Nolan Ryan era...
