Prince William said that when he picks an engagement or a cause to support, he does it to make an impact on others lives. I am glad he took the time to highlight this important cause that is suicide among construction workers, which is Men's mental health. In 2021 alone, 571 construction workers took their lives. Moreover, the construction industry has one of the highest suicide rate in the country 3:1 ratio. It will be interesting to see what comes out of these discussions today❤️👏🏽#PrinceofWales

I hate to be the one to break Majuju new tooth craving to seem "Patriotic"! Julius Ramaminana Malema, which workers are referring? Are those workers occupying scarce skills jobs in South Africa? If not, do you know what our immigration policies and employment Equity Act says over hiring of non SouthAfrican in a job a citizen can do? Are those migrants adding economic value to South Africa? We can't just have people using traveling visas seeking employment in South Africa. In a functional country, your employer should apply for a work permit whilst you are still in your country to clarify which skills set you are bringing X country. But here in South Africa, our citizens are made to compete with foreigners in all economic sectors, even in entry-level sectors/employment opportunities. During an Israeli military operation last week the water and sewage network in Nur Shams camp in the #WestBank were destroyed. UNRWA sanitation workers have stepped up to fix these systems, which are vital for the wellbeing of the 14,000 Palestine Refugees who live in the camp. As always, #UNRWAworks to fulfil the mandate given to us by the UN General Assembly - the international community - whatever the challenges. Our office in the camp was also bulldozed. The building, which was the hub of our work there, is now unusable and will have to be demolished. In Nur Shams and across the region, our services encompass learning for children, health, sanitation, and social protection. We will continue to deliver on our mandate.
