Interestingly, every single lawyer that writes contracts with non-compete provisions is themselves exempt from non-compete provisions because, get this… legal representation is a constitutional right, but healthcare is not. We should change that.

Even if a non-compete is entirely too broad and unenforceable, young doctors can’t afford to take the legal fight to their deep pocketed employers. Savvy lawyers simply drive up costs with motions until the young doctor can no longer afford to fight. Ask me how I know this.

Only thing missing is the hospital admin making conscious decision it’s much cheaper to spend money lobbying and buying politicians than actually paying employees/improving work environment

These are also wielded as weapons of indentured servitude by private practices who extract the intense work ethic of new grads and pay them a fraction of their worth until they leave town and they snare another.
