I cannot recommend it enough: everyone should try to adopt at least one or two stray cats searching for love and a forever home. You'll never find a more loving and grateful animal than a rescued cat. Tinkerbelle below was my first. She was a month old when I nabbed her off the street in 2015. She's the queen of my house and head of her own cat community of nearly 30 cats.

I adopted mine from the Humane Society. I was conflicted as to which cat to get. The night before my mother told me in a dream to get the cat that was declawed. When we arrived, there was only one cat declawed on her front paws. They had had trouble trying to get her adopted out. We were the only ones she would let hold in about two years. She followed us around when they told us about her, Meadow. She's been with us since, which was in 2021. She's now about ten years old.

Adopt strays, don't buy so breeders stop over breeding female cats.

This cat reminds me of a cat my parents adopted. They called him Thomas & he’d lived rough but turned up one day. They never managed to totally tame him but he spent the last years of his life being fed, sheltered & loved. Isn’t that what we all want & need, whether human or cat.
