Normally I wouldn’t preemptively post a response to the response to the State of the Union, but after reading Sarah Huckabee-Sanders’ remarks on Republicans in a “culture war we didn’t start and never wanted to fight”…ma’am this was nearly a *year* ago

Context

Michigan proved that people are tired of politicians trying to convince them that all their problems are somebody else’s fault. Stop attacking trans kids and start putting up actual plans to help people. Governing is hard. Scapegoating is easy. And hate won’t win.

We’re making a bet that there’s a better way forward, one that builds on the President’s belief in the soul of the nation. After tonight’s #StateOfTheUnion keep your eyes on us in Michigan. America, we got this.

a “culture war we didn’t start and never wanted to fight” Take out the word "culture" and this could be a direct quote by Ladyrov, Medvedev or any of Putin's other varsity team propagandists as they talk about Ukraine.

They don't want to fight the culture war? 🤯Here I was thinking they were using it to distract their voters from the fact that they have no policies and no desire to actually govern in a rational fashion.

That speech is exactly why I started following you from Oklahoma. You are exactly the kind of leadership the DNC needs.

I am in awe of you. I have listened to this speech many times and to this day I get teary eyed listening to those final words with such conviction: "We will not let hate win."
